Description
Morgan Mackenzie had a very bad day. First at work, then at home, and then her bathtub fell through a portal to another world, with her in it. Now she's stuck thousands of miles from any sort of civilization with nothing but the bathtub and a lace puffball scrubby. But she learned magic, so that's sorta nice. Now if only she could find some clothes...

- LadyMira80Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The characters are well developed. The plot is engaging and consistent! The writing flows very well. Wonderful story with a good realistic mix of good and bad happenings! I love following the Skyclad Sorceress and the other Worldwalkers. Everyone looking for magic and isekai should check out this series. Can’t wait for the remaining chapters! And other work by this author.
- RPGNoviceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great stuff. I really like the way this story is progressing. Using interludes to link things together the way you are is working for me. Haven't noticed any mistakes in grammar. Please continue. Looking forward to Many great things from you.😎
- ZengarRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5First off, this is a portal fantasy/litrpg story where only truly minor characters have classes that could be considered "normal", "standard", or "boring". In fact, even those characters might not just be "mages", or whatever, if they mattered enough to go into details. The setting has a few problems if you're looking for the sort of consistency you get from "serious" fantasy, but it's better than average for "lighter" fare. In fact, I think that a number of the bad reviews of this story are due to it not being what the reviewers were expecting it to be.
Despite the cover art, the title being "Skyclad", and the sexual content waring; despite three of the viewpoint characters being a succubus, The Harlot, and an obligate nudist; there is no on page sex. Despite starting off as a "crunchy" litRPG with statpoint allocation and detailed experience gain, once the author thinks the reader has a handle on the system such things drop away.
The main problem that I see in the writing is an overreaction to "show don't tell". In order for us to "see" what's going on elsewhere, or how a characters actions look to the rest of the world, we are given enough viewpoint characters that it can be hard to remember who's who. This can even be counter-productive, since we end up needing to be "told" a bunch of things about new viewpoint characters when they are introduced. - GraveltonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I think the character's entrance into her new world has to be one of the most unique and fun to read that I've run into so far in the Isekai stories on here.
Unfortunately (or fortunately?) for her, those initial moments set her on a course for a very special character build. All humor aside, though, the MC is one of a number of people caught up in this new world, and so from early on there are a number of other POVs which we get to see from time to time and ... the author uses them and side stories to full effect, really fleshing out the world and making it not just a backdrop, but a world with a history and events that play a major role in the story.
It's on Amazon as well, and I have to say its a darn good read. The author has started a second volume, Skybound, which you should also read if you like this one. Same characters, continuing this story, just breaking it out into a new 'book'.
What else to say ... hm. There are some scenes that just blew me away, but I don't want to drop spoilers, so I guess I'll just say wow. I can't help but read the word 'exfoliate' with a mental voice reminiscent of 'Exterminate!!', now. Hilarious. Ah, yes, I forgot, the story is hilarious from time to time. - TactlessProficiencyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A perspective jumping epic that's focused on Morgan. Beware that every time there is a perspective jump there is a time leap as well. I found myself internally raging against some of the time and perspective leaps as I so desperately wanted to continue following that one character in the moment. Quite a few of those moments followed non-primary characters but a good couple of them involved the main character Morgan. That said, nearly every time I quickly found myself so very engrossed in the new chapter that I found myself glaring at how much was left of the scroll bar in the new remaining chapter. So was the cycle till the very end of the book. There will only be a short break of a day or two before I find my self on the author's patron page to provide tribute before coming back here to begin the second book.
There is mostly only a single perspective per chapter and where there are multiple perspectives in a single chapter, they flow together.
Everything is so epic about every step of the story that it can be hard dealing with the perspective changes as you don't necessarily want to leave the most recent character you were reading about. Yes there are a lot of different perspectives some of which are happening simultaneously however I was very happy to realize that the perspective do NOT overlap. When I encounter a perspective hopping author I'm always terrified of encountering a Stephen King novel. But every moment every perspective hop only moves forward allowing the story to move forward even if it only does so incrementally at times.
Characters, reactions and counter reactions are well thought out. Characters are distinct and unique. Never once found myself confusing one character with another based on thoughts, actions or verbiage.
Likewise, towns, customs, locations and traditions were all unique with no chance of confusing anything.
There are some minor spelling and punctuation errors but nothing grievous enough for me to warrant mention in the com - FallionRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I absolutely love the chapters about Morgan but all these ‘side chapters’ feels like a chore I have to do, to get to the content I actually enjoy.
I understand that they might be necessary for the storyline but that does not make them any more enjoyable to read for me. - Alex StormRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The story is fine,
the style of the author works,
the characters... are ok, just not a favorite of mine to wait for what should be the mc, require over a month to get back to her while exploring interludes or other characters.
If can tolerate then you are ok, just doesn't work for me.
Or not sth that i like over web novels and the slow releases. - ZacleRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I'll be upfront with that I like this story overall and would recommend it. I would definitely say that this is one of the better stories here on royalroad.
the author seems to have the plot and world already laid out to an extent which is nice to see.
So far the grammar and spelling have been good I haven't noticed to many mistakes. only one or two here and there that are easily ignorable.
my main problem with this novel is the formatting. It's just big paragraph after big paragraph, now I am no writer myself so I have no idea what/if there is a better way to format it however, I found it hard to read for this reason.
TLDR: good novel with intersting MC, world building. Can't say to much for the actual plot as of yet. No glaring gramatical errors, however the formatting for the story is boring and hard to read. - KikanoloRoyal Road★ 1.0Edit as of Chapter 40:
I've had to drop my rating of the story in a number of categories.
Morgan was the high point of this story, but when we returned to her most recently she felt more like a plot device than a character in the sense that the author needed certain things to happen and just had Morgan be there to do them.
Additionally, the character POV switches continued to be a serious problem for the story's pacing. I normally love a good multi-POV story or well-integrated interludes, but here all of the POVs we visit either feel irrelevant or like plot devices.
The problem is that the author seems to be in a huge hurry to get started with a main plotline and has sacrificed the quality of the individual plot threads to get there faster.
I still have hope for the story, but its definitely faltered after a strong start.

Original Review:
Skyclad is a portal fantasy with the fun twist that the MC's magic needs her to not wear clothes. Its been really enjoyable so far and I can't wait to see how it develops.
The grammar is good, the characters are well-developed so far, and the story is very interesting.
My only misgiving is regarding the style, and the way the story shifts to other POVs for multiple chapters at a time. While those POVs are interesting, Morgan (the MC) 's story has been by far the best part of the story, so I hope that the focus stays on her as the story goes forward. I recognize that the author has stated that the story has multiple POVs in their disclaimer, but its still a bit jarring to get shunted from the compelling story of the MC to new side characters that I don't really about.
