Description

Jack Smith’s life ended rather abruptly. Spinning out on ice while driving a truck was not the most magnificent method to depart this earth. A mediocre man he had led an ordinary life until his death. Now with a second chance at life, he decided that this time he would be exceptional. This time he would finally live up to his name. After all, a jack of all trades is a master of none but ultimately better than one.

Armed with a system and determination to do his best he sets out like any other reincarnated soul in another world to find his place and achieve great things. There is just one small problem with getting started in this endeavour . . . he is yet to be born!

Welcome to a progression fantasy with a twist. What might you be able to achieve if your race to the top began before your body had even been born?

Join our hero as he masters the language, magics and skills of the Compass Kingdoms but his first great challenge will be learning to walk once more.

. . . .

Warning 1: Be prepared for the MC to spend an entire book's worth of words and time as an infant but hopefully you will enjoy it nevertheless.

Warning 2: Grandfather is legally abusive to MC for a couple of chapters but he is removed from that situation around chapter 30. To be edited out  some time in the future.

At Chapter 140, and constantly yearning for more chapters.
SInger Sailor Merchant Mage shows the potential when a character is reborn at a young age, with a supporting family, and the problems that sometimes accrue when a youth is extraordinary.
It is fun to watch the development of the characters and skills, see a little further into what this world has to offer.

This book/series has been langishing in my to read for at least a year.
Admittingly the opening few chapters were slightly of putting.
But give the series a chance, it is very good.
There are few typos but overall the series is well edited.
There are crunchy stats, but not oft putting.
The MC is enjoyable and not filled with angst and is believeable.
The religion and world setting are original and the system is as well

I've read about these baby Isekai geniuses in other books,
But, it doesn't get old. It's still interesting.
The whole trying to get skills, wandering around, and figuring things out tutorial part of the game. Which if you're a gamer, is second nature.
The visualizations are different depending on different authors, but there's always levels, stats, numbers going up, fumbling around in the dark and so on and si fourth.

A good story with a good world/System building, for someone maybe will be bad that the main hero is a child for a whole moment until the last released chapters(246), but for me it's okay. I will back to the reading of this title in the future for sure. Also, my native language is Russian and i read it with help of Google translate and machine translation works perfect.

I am a huge fan of the pace of this story. But before I explain why, another story from here that I LOVE has the opposite pace that is the perfect contrast. Tree of Aeons. The pace of that story seems fast, because you are dealing with decades at a time for events to happen. Tree of Aeons feels like a grand epic, matching its timeline scale.
This story.... All the events happens in such a short time. One year so far. But it's pace perfectly matches the timeline. Yes that pace is the exact opposite of the aforementioned great story, but it fits so well into the life of the MC. His circumstances allow us to spend more time with him directly, getting to know him on a deep level. This pace has given us (I assume I am not the only one to read into his choices) a chance to see the mistakes he is making, that the MC views as just day to day living in his circumstances . At this point I am not even sure the MC knows the consequences of his new train of thought.
This could end up being a very good character study into the Nature vs Nurture argument for how we end up as adults. Do our choices shape our personality? Or does our personality drive our choices? How much control do we need to keep things from falling apart? Or will the constant adjustments cause an unforseen accident to ruin things an y ways?
The juice is definitely worth the squeeze for this story.

This story takes the childhood seriously along with the limitations. It is a bit in the candy store variety will many many many skills, but this is done quite well, and fits into the story. The world makes sense with the system and that’s the key part which keeps me interested. It isn’t filled with cheap action or rushed sections or abrasive timeskips.
So while some might find it slow, I find what is valuable is that the story is done right and takes the details of the world into account. The style, system, and world are notable in how well they are constructed and are functionally self sufficient. Truly the author must be an admirer of the genre and has avoided the pitfalls which drag down many a story.
It is hard to overemphasise how rich and well done the world is and the characters are in it. While some are a bit one or two note, that’s to be expected, how complex can people be living in a small finish village at the end of the known world on a small island.
And the cast is quite large, but I was never confused about who was who and each person was distinctive as they needed to be, plus the MC’s perspective is used and he doesn’t know everyone in the entire village in detail. Later more depth is revealed over time where plot, character development, and pacing combine well. There are some limited POV switches, but it is solidly 95% MC POV.
The pacing is methodical and satisfying, already making 3 or 4 significant arc and focus shifts from the unborn stage to infancy into the toddler years and beyond. We begin very system and skill focused and switch to being socially and then plot focused over time with relatively smooth transitions. The introduction and expansion of the greater world happens while still keeping a tight and meaningful focus in the smaller early arcs.
This is one of the best stories on RR by far and well worth a read. But do note it is not action packed with a character and world focus with family drama, politics, township, crafting, and economics

I am enjoying this story very much.  Looking forward to seeing it published and on audio.
Story is well written and characters are interesting.  The story engaged me early on and has kept my interest.  Read all available chapters in about four days.  Will continue to follow for new chapters.

This is a very good book, with ambitious worldbuliding and a neat premise.
The only thing holding it back is the need for an editor, there are many little typos and gramatical mistakes in the text. Never enough to impede enjoyment but just enough that when you come across one it pulls you out of the story.
Overall I would recomend this story.

Excellent. I am very happy to have found this new gem, and very sad that I found it.  This is exactly my kind of story, but there is so little of it so far.  It took 12 chapters for the protagonist to be born.  So saying that the plot develops slowly is a bit of an understatement. However, the author clearly has a plan and one month into the protagonist's life the 1st hints of how they become a singer are there. Well written, no obvious flaws or typos.  If you like the Dragoneye moons, Magic-Smithing, Melody of Mana, or the Reincarnation of Alysara, this holds great promise for you.  I hope the author continues (swiftly!) and lives up to the promise of this beginning.

A fun and exciting story. I just straws reading it a few days ago and finally caught up.
Our main character is fun to read. I will say that sometimes the chapters can be a bit slow in tempo. But I mainly like this story because of MCs relation with his family and friends.
