Carlota is about to start university and the path to adult life. Her psychic powers have imposed on her an already drawn destiny that she follows with devotion, even knowing there are things (and people) she has to put aside.

Azeneth is beginning to discover the world after serious health problems deprived her of a normal life. The cure for her illness brought with it a sinister company that makes her destiny uncertain.

A solid friendship grows between them when Azeneth is accepted into the house of Carlota's uncle, Dr. Victor Evans, during the summer holidays.

In the town where Victor lives, many admire and respect him, others hate him and wait for the moment when he leaves.

Azeneth doesn't understand why, but very soon she will find herself involved in a tangle that will make her understand it, and will show her destiny may not be as uncertain as she thinks.
