Description

Sigyn, a siren now living on land, has found bliss in her blossoming relationship with the Norse trickster god Loki, however their pairing has caught the murderous gaze of Odin himself. Now she's marked for death by the All-father, just like Loki's tragic first wife before her.

On the run through ancient Greece, a close-call with Zeus threatens the couple’s peace again,  and Sigyn realizes she will never know peace while power-drunk patron gods tyrannize the earth.

So, when a powerful old acquaintance offers her a brutal solution, Sigyn takes it. She will end Zeus’ reign of terror on women – and turn her eyes on Odin's Asgardian throne next. With Loki at her side, Sigyn will reshape the world for their love - or die trying.

    What a satisfying read!
This story is a blend of Norse, Greek and Egyptian myths, and the characters are a mix of gods and heroes. They interact with each other in such a fun way, yet still remain faithful to the myths that inspired them.
    Style
A smooth and easy read. Emotions and actions are both well-written.
    Grammar
Nothing to note - no issues at all. Spelling and grammar are both good.
    Story
It's got depth and emotions behind it, and has its twists - seeds sown earlier in the story comes to fruit farther down the line in a satisfying way. I greatly enjoyed both the slower-paced chapter that really flesh out the characters as well as the more action-focused chapters.
There are times when the characters refer to things that happened in the past, and in those moments, it becomes clearer that this story is not the first in the series, but otherwise it's an enjoyable standalone.
It's also fun to spot myth-related Easter Eggs.
    Characters
The stand-out aspect of this story! There is a deep, comfortable love between Sigyn and Loki, and the banter is great! It by no means overshadows the friendships that are also fun and interesting. My favourite is the dynamics between Loki and his best friend Hermes.
Looking forward to reading more in the next (previous?) installment. 😊
