  This is a pretty short read and it has both Kagome and Inuyasha being very different in their internal dialogue while playing out the same parts from the opening of the series. The tonal clash and attitude difference is fundamentally changing how the characters are perceived by the reader, and because the characters do not come across as themselves anymore, the story is just strained by it.
