Description
Jack had always wanted to be a Shaper, to form pure life-force into obedient beasts and monsters and lead them into battle. Unfortunately, the only way to Shape life-force is through the use of Patterns, and the knowledge of how to make Patterns was lost when the old-world fell. These days, what Patterns remain in the world are closely guarded by their owners, who charge exorbitant amounts of gold from anyone who wants to use them.
It took Jack years of scavenging in the ruins of the old-world, evading deadly traps and ravenous monsters, to gather the gold needed to pay for access to a Pattern and Shape himself a pair of hunting Hounds, and take the first step into realizing his dream.

- Warriorofguildwars2Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A good book with a good story and good characters. There are some adult only scenes but they are handled well I'll and don't detract but rather add to the story.
- J_A_MRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Review as of Chapter 10 Raiders pt. 2
A wonderful series. The MC gets a bit of luck at the beggining but thats the most deus ex machina thing about this novel so far, everything he gains is a result of his actions save the beginning. There are no errors in spelling or grammer that i can see, The characters have a lot of potential and are fleshed out quite a bit even by chapter 10 pt2. The setting is amazingly unique and highly interesting. Overall, I would definetly recommend this. - JohnDelvfarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thank you for all your hard work i just found your story and spent the last couple hours reading. What a great take on this genre and one that easily could happen with advanced tech!! I am eagerly looking forward to what comes next , thanks for the good editing job, clear grammar , mostly 98% correct spelling, it makes it so much easier to read and enjoy. So many possibilities , so many ways to stretch th imagination in this world. Thanks again.

- MajorMagersRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The only bad thing about this book is the limited number of chapters.
There is the hint that we will have a harem in the standard from but it is somewhat not important at the moment. I would not put something like this in a bad or good category, I have another one for wish fulfilment.
The best part of this story is the new magic system that it gives us. This seems to be an original setup that starts off slow but could rapidly grow to OP ness, only held back by economy and materials. - JPwritesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have grown sick of the overdone elemental magics in fantasy where the characters sling fireballs and icebolts like it's no big deal. Magic is being trivialised and rehashed. Authors do the same things over and over again instead of trying to make something new and fantastical. Tremir isn't one of these authors. He has thought outside the box and used his imagination to create something different.
Initially, I checked out this story because it is on trending and I thought it might be a comedy about a living ship. Boy was I wrong and glad for it. I carried on reading because my story has a school of Magic called Shaping as well. I wanted to make sure there wasn't too much overlap. Instead, Shipshape has inspired me to improve on the school.(the similarity ends at the name and the use or blueprints which will no longer be called patterns. The author need not worry about me stealing his IP)
Over all, the story is very well written. The style is simplistic and monotonous at times but doesn't take away from the prose. I'm still waiting for the plot to take off, but love the characters. - ZarfasRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I'm quite happy with this story. It's it's own story and doesn't seem to be stealing/using too many tropes but rather creating it's own. The MC is maybe a bit too naïve and it SHOULD bite him in the ass sooner or later.
- kevinnerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Love the somewhat original take on magic system for now i would say that its worth reading definitely, but each chapter is soo short
I love that the characters makes mistakes and learns from it makes them really human - Toastforbreakfast_was_taken_byRoyal Road★★★ 3.0It is very unique in some parts but incredibly dull in others.
- patlicanRoyal Road★★ 2.0* Contains mild spoilers
The story has a really cool concept for a magical system with vim (basically another name for mana) and shapes (could be taught as summons). I love the setup with shapes, leveling and vim management. The story started out good too.
Unfortunately, other than the magic system, the story is just not very entertaining to me. The story and the characters are disappointing. My interest has been slowly waning, and with this latest plotline about abduction and warped, I think I've given up on this.
