- Papa LegbaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've just started this book but the novel concepts, polished and immersive writing style, vivid imagery, pacing, and well fleshed out relatable characters and interactions and above all the ability to wrench the heart for people that have never existed have pushed it to the top of my list and I would give this book six stars if I could.
- AlanDaBaronRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Grimdark at the heart, a world of horror and desolation. Small patches of eden surrounded by waste lands, with humans being monsters as much as the beasts they fight to survive against.
The style is rather good, interesting system for leveling with some clear limitations that help build upon the world. I'd say that it starts to get better as it goes on so don't lose heart of you don't enjoy it at first. Author may use A.I for some assistance but you can tell that there is a human hand in the emotions shown inside. The chapters are of a length that you should be able to catch up pretty easily, I'd say read the first 20 before giving up and looking someplace else for the story.
Cant talk on the story without the character. We have a limbless abomination that has a heart of gold. Even if he outwardly appers to be a monster, he is one of the most human characters in a destroyed world. With small hints and secrets of his past uncovered as the story goes on. Fighting like a pure animal at points, regret for the lose of life and a hunger to member who he is. - goofygoober1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Now, I know it says "AI-Generated Content" but I've checked it using multiple ai content testers and it's only assisted at most. Around 25% AI was the highest value i got, so don't worry about it being AI slop.
As for the book itself, it has a very unique premise that's well executed. - CODITTORoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is simply divine!! I think the Mc's concept is really fun, and the lore is really well tough out. Ended up reading it all in one sitting.

No seriously it’s great so far I recommend giving this a check I really this enjoy this take on a new kind of monster. Grammar looks good like my friendly fellow reviewer mentioned the ai tag is only minimal use on some sentence structuring but other then that it’s a fun new original to read that I look forward to.
- DrohipgodRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A unique premise and I really like the mysteries of the world they have going, and we have only visited 2 main locations so far! You can really feel what kind of character our MC was despite the amnesia through the fragments that burst forth and their reactions to various things, such as how far 'humanity' (including elves, dwarves and sapiens [us]) have fallen.
- coalmine overlordRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0After I read the first few chapters and the world started to really build, I couldn’t stop reading until I was caught up. An amazingly addictive story that borders on slow burn but gives enough that you can’t stop. Highly recommend reading this to at least chapter 7 or beyond.
- NocculumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I stumbled across this whilst looking for something new to read, with the description I thought (wrongly) this would just be another 'Monster in a Human World' type Story.
Instead I found an interesting and intricate character, one who despite appearances has genuine heart. This is a well written story, and does a very good job of portraying a being that is struggling to come to terms with who and what they are in a world where many would kill them just for being what they are. Each of the characters introduced so far are unique and well written, fleshed out with all the foibles and quirks that come with being 'Human'.
Grammar wise, there's no issues, and the prose flows very well from scene to scene. As the other reviewers have pointed out the usage of AI is kept to a minimum, allowing the Authors style to shine through.
Honestly I cannot recommend this story enough, and cannot wait to see what the Author has planned as the story unfolds. - WhyisjohngaltRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A solid story that moves quickly, grows nicely, and hits deeply.
I think the world building is good and intriguing, with interesting mysteries.
The magic seems to be a pretty standard system lit RPG, but still interesting to see and work within. I think I like the amount of flexibility MC has, both within the system and within their skills.
I like the relationships that MC forms, and the difficult challenges they face on that path.
The mystery of the past is intriguing as well.
There are a few times where I feel like the author gets a bit more poetic, more often, than they need to. E.g. ending a chapter with a dramatic statement like
The time for planning was over. In two days, we would write our freedom in blood.
It's not bad exactly, just not what I personally love with how often it's done. - DustyacerRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0So I will say i love the story despite some flaws that will turn a lot of people away.
Characters 7/10
two of my favourite character archtypes are "am I human or a monster?" archtype and cyborg characters. And this has both of them so I was particularly hooked. However, the MC is way too much of a nice guy sometimes (ie. I will not kill the guy bc im stupid). For the side characters I have a lot of mixed feelings. Many of them fall under generic archtypes such as anti-monster, rich noble, etc. The cast that are closer to MC are pretty good and I had some emotional moments. However, there tends to be too much cast around the mc that it can be hard to really go indepth with each of them. However, I think the tradeoff is well worth it.
Story: 7/10
The story is actually pretty good. Its one of the few books on royalroad where I think there truly is a story divide between book 1 and 2. They even feel quite a bit different in tone etc. I can definately see someone liking book 1 and not 2 and vice versa. A lot theme of the story is what happened before chapter 1. We get hints through random flashbacks, memories and sometimes a short chapter about the past. These chapters sometimes feel odd as they distrupt the flow quite a bit.
Secondary story arcs is about Mc's humanity, getting stronger, etc.
Grammar: Its fine. Nothing jumped out wrong at me.
Style: Not a huge fan of random intrusive backstory drops every so often, however I have seen many webnovels do this and others liking it so I didnt critize it too much.
Overall: There were many of the parts of the story I got kinda bored but held on for a bit and wasnt dissappointed later. I did cry so beware of that.
