Description

My pain holds reality together.

HaShem is the architect of this universe. I am the nail He hammered into its foundations, the cosmic calculation He scribbled on a napkin and forgot. For a billion years, my mind has been His abacus, torn apart by equations that keep the stars from flickering out. My reward is a migraine that outlasts galaxies and monstrous offspring that tear their way through my flesh.

I did it all for a silent god who never answered. I was his good soldier. His perfect victim.

Until I discovered the truth.

My mate, my only companion, was not a partner but a warden, rewriting my memories to keep me docile. The very fabric of my history was a lie designed to keep me in my cage. My compliance was over.

This is not the story of a hero’s fall. It is the story of a victim learning to wield the hammer.

This is Book One in an epic hard science fiction saga, and it is my genesis. You are about to witness the birth of your villain.

I will not be redeemed. I will not be saved. I will beunleashed.

You will watch me betray my mate to an eternity of torment to silence the screaming in my head. You will watch me manipulate my own daughter, turning her love into a weapon. You will watch me hunt down an innocent family and justify their slaughter with the cold, unambiguous mathematics of survival.

This journey is not for the faint of heart. It is a disorienting descent into a world where quantum physics is cosmic sorcery, black holes are adversarial oracles, and gods are indifferent laws of nature. You will be lost in my fragmented mind, piecing together my story as I do, one broken memory at a time.

Read it, and understand what it takes to break a god's chains... and who you have to become to do it.

I’ve really enjoyed reading this fiction so far. The author’s commitment to an outright despicable protagonist has kept me fully engaged throughout. Avarice isn’t cruel for cruelty’s sake; she’s trapped in a role that makes her motivations both sympathetic and terrifying. That emotional tension is compelling and refreshingly complex. The hard science is equally ambitious. There’s a clear and consistent effort to ground the worldbuilding in universal laws. At times, the technical depth feels a bit heavy for someone without a scientific background (I often have to take the story’s accuracy on faith just to stay immersed), but the thoughtfulness behind it is undeniable. Sometimes, certain turns of phrase and descriptive patterns reappear a little too frequently, and that repetition can interrupt the flow. Still, the recursive nature of the prose might be a deliberate stylistic choice, reflecting the narrative’s focus on time, space, and black hole manipulation. That said, I’m genuinely enjoying the emotional tug-of-war at the heart of the story. Avarice is a protagonist I half want to succeed and half want to fail. Predicting how her villainous nature might come back to bite her keeps the story incredibly gripping.

"Shadow of Prometheus: Avarice" is a breathtaking WIP that fuses hard sci-fi with mythic fantasy in a way that’s utterly captivating. Uncle Samael crafts a universe of staggering scope—where Avarice and Tantalus, cosmic custodians of space and time, wrestle with duty, rebellion, and the raw pain of existence. The prose crackles with intensity, blending intricate world-building with visceral emotion. Niobe’s emergence as the Third Epoch is a game-changer, hinting at explosive potential. This is a story of sacrifice, power, and defiance that leaves you hungry for more—absolutely stellar work!
