Description
VOLUME 1 UNDER MAINTENANCE-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Over the years, heroes often shared tales of how they received their gifts. Their ability to becomemore.
It generally involved a personalized set of memories and a vision before their power manifested.
This held true for Finn as well, but he hadn't expected to get... this.
Stuck with the power to turn into a glorified kaleidoscope, and a duty he knows neither his mother nor the government would approve of, the only other option for an aspiring hero like him seems to be Aegis Corp, a decentralized mercenary organization offering hero work in exchange for credits and resources.
Finn fights crime and works his way up, but he soon realizes this journey is bound to draw attention, both the good and the bad kind.

- Deathwish665Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Okay I'm not gonna lie I can't pass up the opportunity to be a first review. It makes my brain fizz with excitement.
Also I'm a little surprised this story isn't more popular, I had to find it through another story's reviews. c’est la vie, I guess
I am enjoying the story so far, its a little fast paced at times, but that is kind of what I expect from a graphically violent superhero story so i didn't find it unexpected.
The character is a young superhero which makes me excited to see where he goes and leaves a ton of room for character growth. He also has some less than over powered abilities that lean more towards using strategy and tactics than being a heat seeking rocket of destruction.
The author's style gives me young adult fiction vibes, but not quite. There is a bit of a maturity to it that makes me think this story rides the line of young adult and just plain adult fiction. I imagine it will be more of the later as the character ages. I also saw this story is already onto the second book which gives me hope things are going to just get better and better! - WhyisjohngaltRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5This genuinely feels like it was written mostly by an AI, and I don't mean that as a compliment.
It's not bad, exactly. The world building is interesting and there was some thought put into it. I like the addition of skill and training to the way the superpowers play out.
The characters are fine, nothing super great, and a lot of them seem a bit one-dimensional.
One thing that I do like is that the story moves forward quickly. The plot doesn't wait around or drag, which is nice.
The style of writing, though, for lack of a better term, feels like an AI. It feels like how Chad GPT writes, with flowery and often unnecessary metaphor, like "The pen lay like a silent promise" in the first chapter, or continuing to bring up the Dodge ball episode later in ways that felt a bit strained to me.
It also feels like sometimes the full consequences of actions aren't really explored. Why do super vigilantes not need to reveal his true identity to the police, for instance?
Over it's definitely not terrible as a story. There are some interesting things to engage with, some mysteries like what happened to his dad and what will happen with the main girl and her family. It's fast moving, full of action, and with some interesting superpowers. If that's what you're looking for, it's a good story for you. - rel7891Royal Road★★ 2.0If the author could clarify whether this book is AI written or not I would be very interested.
No judgement, but the writing style is so unfamiliar to anything I have ever read. It has an alien feel to it.
If it is AI written, I think that is something you should add in the description. I would be inclined to give this book more of a try if I got some sense of where this dissonance in writing style is coming from.
