Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head.

“One in a billion.”

That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other.

“Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.”

He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling.

“Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him.

Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural.

Which meant people.

He hoped.

Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much.

And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception.

“Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.”

No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.

Rated five stars due to sexy sects like Thundering Cats Running Down Hall or Two Bears High Fiving or Jimbos Hill Clan And Tackle Shop. You would not believe their perfection of trout fishing. Also there is some guy and he builds a fort but it doesn't have a rope swing or a sheet ceiling. He does have a cat that wants to snuggle, so that is ok. They watch movies.

the pacing is also great stuff, nothing is too rushed neither is it dragged on needlessly

I am a sucker for fusion fantasy, where two or more genres are mixed into a new compelling whole. This series does this well. Instead of someone from our current world transmigrating into a Xianxia setting, we are given a futuristic Military SF genre transmigrator.
Now, let's get the randy elephant out of the room. The Harem elements do make sense from a world-building standpoint, and the NSFW chapters are far apart and easily skippable. One element of the Harem/NSFW section that I appreciated was the fact that,
The MC sees two female characters having... "a relationship" with each other and does not assume that this is performative or for his benefit. Instead, he wisely gets the heck outta there.
This alone gives this story moral superiority over a majority of stories in the Harem genre. The Harem elements also serve the world and story rather than the world and story being a flimsy excuse for a Harem.
I enjoyed the level to which the main character's overpowered cheat is well-balanced against his major weakness in this world. Flaws and weaknesses are generally more interesting than strengths, and his weaknesses and strengths complement each other well. The Main Character always feels like a clever non-contradictory blend of overpowered hero and scrappy underdog.
Also, solid side character writing, outside of the main character's love interests. We have non-Cultivators living in the world who feel like they have lives and compelling backstories within the culture they live in. This doubles as a compliment toward the story's worldbuilding because my experience is that good worldbuilding is generally delivered by good characterization. Sexy Sect Babes definitely delivers on that front.

It's a surprisingly fun read even if you care not for the porn one way or another, the story develops interestingly and the only thing that could really be considered contrived is also just a fact of the magic system, which is that almost only girls can be cultivators. Which, since that's part of the magic system makes the whole harem development seem more likely than it otherwise would have been.
The mc has tech but no magic, the locals have magic. Turns out magic is bullshit, but with a great enough application of force, even bullshit will be forced to obey the laws of reality.

I'm happy with how it took on merging Sci Fi and Wuxia. MC used his advantages as a futurstic man to bring out the best result of the situation instead of being enamored by becoming a magical punching wizard and studying cultivation.
I also love how he is limited and realistic in his advantages. His "abundant modern knowledge" is contained in a database stored in his power mech and is limited to civillian access and no bullshit such as "instructions on to how to make a gun" (which is more solid than a reincarnated engineer pulling out the laws of science and mathematical formulas out of his brain), his all-healing regents are finite, his seemingly OP nanomachine fabricator will evetually wear out and break down, and so far there is nothing he can do about it. Hereby somehow balancing things out in becoming not too OP (hopefully).
Sure, some people may be discontented expecting our MC to cultivate, but that's honestly tedious and time-consuming, not to mention a common generic plot. And based on the current arc in how some kind of massive war is looming against some evil forces recklessly pumping magical steroids to the flora around the local empire, time to cultivate is something our MC can't exactly afford. Maybe in the future he would, but I won't really hang on it.
As for the MC, he is fine. He is a simple common man frank with his desires with a bit of a rough-ish nature as a miner, but at the same time he is ambitious enought to pour in effort and work hard for his plans. He may not be too smart, but he is not an idiot either. Rather, I would call him rational and logical in thought. As for now, he comes out as rather shallow as a character, but we are still in the early stages and we have more time to get to know him. 'The protagonist is only as smart as his writer', and Bluefishcake nothing but is thoughtful, diligent and meticulous in writing his characters.
Although the MC not that smart, he makes use of his offline database equivalent of Google to get by.

Third time reading it, solid pacing and Bluefishcakes tried really hard to make the smexy parts as serious and unfunny as they could. They really, really tried. NSFW parts are charming and loquatious.
10/10, I wish I had a snek wife and a.wolf butler as a side piece. Will definitely read again in 18 months or so. Wash, rinse , repeat.

This is a great "technology vs magic" story
Usually a Setting VS Setting will be a bragging fest about how one setting is much superior to the other, and thats what kills most of those stories, but this one manages to make it work by setting an upper limit to both technology and cultivation
The MC may come from a super advanced sci-fi society, but his database is blocked so he may only access civilian tech
On the other hand cultivation is capped at around foundation establishment, or the late parts of Dragon Ball, just before Dragon Ball Z
In this way the strong points of technology can make up for the weak points of cultivation and viceversa, creating an incentive for the characters to join their abilities in order to improve their power base
Now, a trope i always find funny is how even a war criminal from earth looks like a meek person in a cultivation setting, and this helps to integrate Jack, as his rough demeanor and gang power plays translate very well to sect politics and the violence of cultivation
This by itself would be enough to make an interesting story, but Jack arrives in the middle of a big conflict, so he must maneuver and prepare, in order to survive and thrive
A little industrialization, a few cultivator allies, some legit trump cards and lots of bluffing make for a great story

Since I am a new reader it would be early for me to give and advanced review but I am still rating this story 5 stars for some well justified reasons in my opinion. I made an account on Royal Road just to rate this since this story is not on scribblehub.
Onto the review. It's a mix of modern plus cultivation world. The start I have read atleast doesn't imply MC himself is turning into a cultivator. Instead it feels like Factorio game turned into a story vibes. MC seems aware that he isn't the brightest or strongest and is using tools he has to his advantage.
In this genre I haven't yet read a story with similar style yet basically setting up supply lines and gradually building stuff which is honestly pretty fun to read. Since I am at start of story I may update my review later but for now I really am enjoying this hence decided to leave a rating.

I love this story and like all of it. but have a single complaint. bluefishcake's first story sexy space babes is porn with a plot story, which is heavy on the plot and is one of the best examples of what porn with a plot story should be like, and I came into this story expecting something similar, but there isn't enough NSFW content for me. However, since the story and everything is still pretty good I'm giving this a 5-star review since my complaint is more of a personal preference rather than a valid complaint against the story
