Description

On a world, in a crystal sphere far, far from places well known, in a land few would otherwise note there is a man, a man who has dedicated much of his life to doing what he thought was right, what would save innocents.  Things begin going haywire when he meets a girl, rejected by most, hated by many.  These are their adventures.

This world uses the system detailed in Dungeons and Dragons 3.5, with parts of the lore from that and other versions, the characters, places, and some of the interactions are my own, but nothing that I wouldn't allow at a table were I to be running it.  Some chapters will have bits of lore or setting information at the bottom, explanations of what's happening and the like.  The adventures are just that, run with dice rolls on my desk with me as the players and DM, and will be released in arcs, shorter than a normal novel, but enough to tell a 'story'.  Something not a 'one-shot', but rather as an 'adventure'.  Each will be released as a batch when it is ready to be.

I have found I like the characters and the situation they are in very much to my liking. I don't see much of the linkage to D&D. Just reads like a fantasy light LitRPG story to me. But for me that is fine. I prefer good plot ideas over RPG elements so this story hits the sweet spot for me. Hope author keeps the work going.

    Love it.
Love the concept. Love the execution. Love that it is dungeons and dragons version three point five. This is a campaign I'd want to play.
Love the twist of the innocent necromancer fearing healing and the merciless bureaucracy of good unable to parse exceptions. Love the villain and multiple plotlines.
The only thing I'd change is Milo. His motivation is A bit weak. He's a grizzled vet used to taking orders in a higher prestige job than he has any right to be. He's had the rulebook repeated to him his whole career.
I get that he believes he is in service to good. I get that he has a moral compass that won't quit. As a focus for negative energy this girl is literally death incarnate though, the antithesis of everything he's be taught and practiced until almost retirement. He needs more impetus to make him more 3-D. I get the impulse to protect but once that wears off I'd love to see more moral anguish and buyers remorse for betraying literally everything in his life.
Maybe repeated attempts to convince himself he is doing right and notice and vindication that the goddess does not approve by the retraction of her power from opponents to justify his acting so consistently out of character and alignment.
Solid story opening here. Thank you for your writing and I hope to read more soon if you decide to continue this story.
