This review for SECRETS OF ELEMENTAL KINGDOMS was made at "Shadows of the Past", which is the ninth chapter.  There may be minor spoilers.
    Style
There are so many magic school stories out there for a reason. This is a solid new entry into that genre that you can let you explore a new world and its educational system alongside the characters. I also suspect that a romantic sub-plot will be a major element of the story even though the two characters have yet to meet.
    Story
I'm not sure if the spirit dragons will ever make an actual appearance or if 'dragons' are just a way of saying someone has elemental powers. They do seem capable of communicating with their hosts. The magic is pretty standard for the most part -- fire, water, air, and earth. Then there are uncommon additions that round out the abilities -- nature and shadow. Typically people have only a single element they can control, but the main character and one other individual have five elements. Those elements are the four standard ones plus one of the uncommon. There are hints that these elements have some influence over emotions that I'm looking forward to see play out.
    Grammar
This story is written in first person and occasionally swaps from the protagonist to the deuteragonist. The spelling and grammar are on point. The one complaint I would make is that the pacing is a bit uneven, with some events feeling rushed or skipped over while others are given more narrative time than necessary.
    Character
Our main character Arvanya is a moral and kind individual. Lucian set up to be a foil of sorts for Arvanya, someone who believes in dominance but might be open to another way of doing business.
    Overall
It's a good start and I'm curious where things are going.

Amongst a large roster of side and background characters, Secrets of Elemental Kingdoms follows two main characters with changing point of view, princess Arvanya Morisson and the prince Lucian. They have a different outlook on life, with princess Arvanya Morisson showing a more reflective and emotional view on her journey, while prince Lucian is more preoccupied with the political and societal power structures of their world. Both of them have something in common though: they both not only bond with one elemental dragon, but with five, something that is both unusual and frowned upon in their society.
So as Vin in the Mistborn series from Brandon Sanderson can burn all metals and the avatars Aang from Avatar the Last Airbender and Korra from Legend of Korra can bend all elements, the two main protagonists have this ability to have full access to the world's magic. That sets them apart, draws them together and gives them a secret they have to keep for themselves which opens up quite a few interesting narrative possibilities for the future. The process of bonding with elemental dragons reminded me of the bonding of the Seiikinese dragon riders with the great eastern water dragons in Priory of the Orange Tree and A Day of Fallen Night from Samantha Shannon.
    The grammar is flawless.
If you like to read fantasy stories with a dynamic pair of protagonists finding together against all odds, overcoming all resistances society stacked against them, then this is the read for you!

I'm fully enjoy reading 'Secrets of Elemental Kingdoms' so far! I was already drawn into the world by the first few chapters; you do a fantastic job of making the setting feel alive right from the get-go. The main characters are also genuinely endearing, and I found myself connecting with them very quickly. Arvanya, in particular, is so cool, I really like her tone of voice and the vibrant energy of her character. Her family is awesome too! It's great to see such engaging personalities right from the start.
The only point I could make is maybe highlight the abilities of the characters a little more? They are super intriguing, perhaps small glimpses into past challenges that shaped them or the specific burdens that come with their unique skills or lineage. Oh, and perhaps pop out new characters a little more by giving them more distinctive descriptive quirks.

I'll admit. Initially, I was very very apprehensive because the first chapter introduced a slew of characters on top of one of the main characters Arvanya. I was worried that their simultaneous development would bog down the story since it appeared they would be hanging around Arvanya a lot.
However, I'm glad to say, my worries were unwarranted.
I perceive this story as more character-driven (if the first few chapters capture the essence and pace of the rest of the story) and I must commend the author.
My first compliment dips into how their writing style is at its best when they are juggling the actions of multiple characters. Be it the mention of Nico and Dante's shenanigans while Arvanya is solving an integral in class, or the casual mention of Kai... doing Kai. The character have so much personality that they can at times overshadow the surroundings and make you forget all else.
And speaking of all else, I'm not sure which direction the story wants to go. I get the impression that the author wanted to establish the camaraderie between Arvanya and her friends, as well as Lucian and his own.
So far, I think that's been done to a very respectable degree.
I was especially interested in Lucian's characterisation. He first gives off the vibe of the typical, cold Prince who accepts no one and regards nothing, but a single scene in the second or maybe third chapter paints him as someone who has inherited the values of leadership - he scolds those who are lost and encourages those who are falling behind.
As for Arvanya, I am curious as to why she has to keep her elements hidden while Lucian can freely express them, but (unless I've missed something) I'm sure it will be revealed.
Another point I'm really interested in is the fact that air dragons are considered weak in actual combat. I know for a fact that author has included this as something to be developed in a unique manner in the future, since air in most media is always overpowered. I look forward to how the humble

I was immediately surprised by the level of writing on display.
Much of what I read on this website feels like it is written by people who have never bothered to study literature or even just read novels.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the writing, the narration and the dialogue both.
The genre feels slightly off from my personal preference but I hope you succeed with this novel.

Secrets of Elemental Kingdoms delivers an engaging fantasy adventure. The world centers on elemental dragons that bond with humans, granting magical abilities. This magic system creates a believable hierarchy that feels lived-in rather than constructed. Elemental powers woven into daily life pull readers into this universe from the first chapter.
Style: The writing balances description and action effectively. Each character speaks with a distinct voice - Adrian's protective tone, Lucian's conflicted thoughts, and Arvanya's determined yet cautious perspective all ring true. Descriptions of elemental magic help readers visualize water whirlpools and nature manipulation without excess explanation.
Story: Princess Arvanya hides a dangerous secret - she possesses five elemental dragons, a gift that must remain hidden. Prince Lucian, who also controls multiple elements but embraces his power openly, creates a compelling contrast. The academy setting introduces friendships, rivalries, and challenges of mastering powers while hinting at larger political schemes. The mystery around Arvanya's hidden abilities drives the narrative forward.
Character: Both protagonists engage readers immediately. Arvanya balances capability and vulnerability - powerful yet constrained by family warnings, creating internal conflict. Her relationships with brothers and friends reveal different sides of her character. Prince Lucian offers a counterpoint - outwardly confident but showing glimpses of compassion. Supporting characters have distinct personalities that enhance the main story.
Grammar: The prose is polished with strong command of language. Dialogue flows naturally, and descriptions remain vivid without excess.
This novel combines the magical academy elements of Harry Potter with the elemental manipulation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, while adding its own unique spin on forbidden powers and hierarchical society. If you enjoy fantasy worlds with developed magic systems and characters st

    Overall Score: 4.5/5
Secrets of Elemental Kingdom introduces readers to a vibrant world where elemental powers, political intrigue, and complex relationships converge. In the first seven chapters, the story immerses the audience into a magical world, laying a solid foundation for what promises to be an exciting and emotionally charged narrative. The balance between action, character development, and world-building is executed well, keeping the reader engaged and invested in the characters and their journey. The pacing, while steady, ensures enough depth to make the characters' experiences feel meaningful without overwhelming the plot with too much information.
    Style Score: 4.5/5
The author has a strong, engaging writing style that draws readers into the world of Secrets of Elemental Kingdom. The narrative flows smoothly, with well-crafted descriptions that allow readers to picture the world and its characters vividly. The dialogue is sharp and often laced with humor, which brings life to the story and ensures that the interactions between characters feel dynamic and real. The transitions between action and quieter moments are well-balanced, making the pacing feel natural without losing the intrigue or momentum.
That said, while the descriptive passages are evocative, at times, there’s a slight overuse of certain expressions, which could be streamlined to keep the momentum consistent. Nevertheless, the overall style is polished and compelling, with a good blend of world-building and emotional depth that enriches the reading experience.
    Story Score: 4.5/5
The story’s premise is strong, and the first seven chapters do a great job of setting up an intricate world of elemental magic and the political undercurrents that drive it. Lucian's internal struggles with the expectations placed on him as a future leader, coupled with his complex relationships—particularly with Celeste—add emotional depth to the narrative. Meanwhile, Arvanya’s training and exploration of her multi-

I saw the author advertising this story on some forum post. Figured I'd give it a read. Currently, there isn't too much content to read through, but what is there shows a few issues I'd like to see addressed in some way.
I like the premise, it's solid and has lots of potential. However, I feel that it is communicated in a confusing way. Here are a few examples:
The blurb for this story states that Arvanya is enrolling as an air elemental - but in the book she is a water one.
It is unclear initially if the dragons were physical or not (they aren't) but that was explained only in an author note.
Why does she need to hide her five element power when Lucian does not? They are both royalty so it's not a matter of status. There might be a good reason, but we aren't really told anything more.
Moving on, another thing I noticed was that this story really feels more like an outline or summary rather than a final draft. Scene changes aren't set up, we are simply given a heading stating what the new scene is, then we get a bit of dialogue - maybe some action. Boom scene ends, next heading new scene. I would like things to be far far more fleshed out than they are.
The way it currently is it's a bit difficult to keep track of characters and events when everything is so short and to the point.
Anyways, I hope this writer keeps at it and improves this story as it could one day be a really entertaining read!
