What comes after death?
The Afterlife.
A world split into three layers.
Heaven, Nexus and Hell.
The Afterlife is harsh, cruel, and sometimes downright unfair, with everything based upon luck.A world with a game system, which enables the residents to level up, and gain special attributes.
A tower lies in the middle of it all, named the Core, which provides passage to God, who will bestow on you your greatest desires. Unfortunately, to get to God, one must conquer 27 stages and battle against others wishing to meet him too.
Ikite, a young teenager, gets killed by a gang of criminals and reawakens in Hell with a different body and life. As his two new personalities meld into one, he becomes an 'Awakener', someone who has their previous life's personality sharing their mind.
However, he realises he has no combat perks, a bad class and a peasant's life in Hell, the lowest layer.
At first, he decides on a hardworking, yet peaceful life with his mother, but bad luck wouldn' leave him alone. Forced to journey where he doesn't want to journey, will he overcome his obstacles, change his perspectives, and climb the tower? Or will he sink into the lifeless state, just like many of those around him...
Kick back and relax with this book as it's your traditional LitRPG, with a twist or two here and there.
New chapter at least every two days (unless previously stated).

- DemodrilRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've only read the first two chapters, but it's already looking like a good read. I love the ideas, very original, and I was looking for something that hadn't been done before. I like that there wasn't too much of a info dump, and that we are discovering the world just as the character is. If there is I'm sure I wouldn't mind it as the authors writing style makes it an easy read.
- DuskArcanistRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This work has managed to convey the LitRPG genre seemlessly in the first few chapters. I'm certain individuals new to the genre would be able to read this very easily without having to know too much about LitRPG beforehand.
The layout of the chapters are also smooth, along with the stats sheets which fit in rather neatly. - JamesArkRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The system is cool, the system is a lucky 18yo
In my opinion, the story was a little too rush at some point.
Overall is nice, for a light read. For sure I will continue in reading it, especially now that is starting to get serious.
There is a deep construction and thinking behind, it's shows.
Sorry for my outrageous English. It isn't my first lenguage - KawfiMugRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The book is an intresting read, under the classic clichés you would get from any traditional isekai this book adds a unique twist here and makes a small change there to make it fit in to the story well. The characters are well built and though the world building is quite expanded on it isn't confusing. Looking forward to seeing the plot advance as we dive deeper into the main storyline.
- D.M. Rhodes (Razzmatazz)Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5„Second Life’s Game: Hell“ is a fantasy litRPG story about a person reborn into the body of a young man named Ikite, who literally lives in Hell. Hell is, in the classic sense, very bad. It is the lowest layer of a three layer world that is interconnected by a large ‚dungeon‘-tower that one must progress through if they wish to leave their current circumstances. However despite that, his new life is surprisingly quaint and while not exactly charmed, it’s good. Circumstances quickly spiral out of control however, and Ikite’s new, peaceful farm life, is up-turned as he becomes of age and everything starts going wrong.
The story makes extremely heavy use of the classic ‚blue tables‘ so if that’s what you’re after as a litRPG reader, then you’re definitely in the right place here. Ikite as a character is enjoyable, as well as his companions. One of which physically embodies a tutorial-representation of this world’s [system]. They each stand apart from each other and their motivations are clear enough to be followable.
The author likes to worldbuild a lot, which I personally am a fan of. The very first thing you read when opening the story is a little ‚introduction‘ which I personally thought was very cute and it helped me to understand the world we were entering here. From there-on, the author doesn’t spend a lot of time focusing on the protagonist’s old life, rather opting to dive right into the core materia, which worked fine for me since there was already that establishing scene.
One thing that does happen a lot though are hard scene transitions, especially over time periods and places. The most jarring of which was a „2 years later“ which, to be fair, makes sense from a story-telling perspective. But I especially would have liked to have followed Ikite’s train of thought when the [events] happened, rather than skipping over it straight to the results.
Regarding grammar and spelling, I found nothing off the mark. The author likes to use some rather descriptive words - Yohan T. NormieRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5The writing style makes it easy to read. The story is alright but I can't really judge for now since only 6 chaps are out.
What you could improve (according to me):
- Game stats presentation. On RR there are various tools available to authors. Such as tables, coloring, etc. Use those to further highlight the stats.
- Exposition. There is too much exposition for me. Try to lighten the exposition or give piece by piece to the readers (at a slow pace.) For example, the paragraphs explaining the lore at the beginning aren't necessary. You could just explain what's happening litlle by little. Even without reading it, I think would still have understood the story.
- Give it time.
Anyway, keep up the good work. - level-7up7Royal Road★★★★ 3.5The story starts with a good introduction to the world which is an interesting concept with three layers in the afterlife consisting of hell, nexus and heaven. I liked the idea of real life people merging the people from the after life, this could have been explored a little more as it would be crazy suddenly being merged with a completely new person? It’s still early in the story and the author may have more on this subject in the future. I did think it was cool that the main character initially didn’t really want to adventure as he was content having a mother that loved him and a stable life. That was a nice twist to the usual story protagonist.
There is a decent amount of exposition but it’s used well. The writing is good, and improves as the chapters progress. There are nice touches of humour from some of the description boxes and from the characters.
I really liked the characters, especially Mei who steals every scene that she’s been in so far. So far my favourite chapters have been the more progression focused 7 & 8, I enjoyed the item crafting in 8 as well.
This has been a good start to an interesting story! - rudiiRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I really like the premise- it's quite interesting. The writing is smooth and engaging. Many stories I just can't read because of my ADD-affected attention span, but yours is one that is easily read. There are no obvious grammatical/spelling errors, and sentence length is quite good. The only issue I see is the occasional unnecessary word, e.g. 'quizzically', in "I pointed towards the boots and clothes quizzically".
