Sanctum: The White Trials [LITRPG progression]

Description

The sanctum; A place of unknown origins, a place outside of space and time. Governed by entities with no names, explored by those with incomprehensible power.

No one knew about its existence until a poor guy was stolen from his home and thrown into the pits of the White Trials.

That unlucky soul belonged to Gray.

No, he wasn’t strong, nor was he a genius. Sure, he could lose some weight, maybe get his mental health in check, you know, the usual fare for someone who walked his path of life.

Yet, uneventful, his past was not. He’d gone through his fair share of mysterious events; like the time when a bullet drilled through his skull, creating a new hole inside of his head, and then, he… came back alive?

He didn’t know what to think of it, so he assumed it was just a vivid dream; A premonition that saved his life.

One fateful night, right before he was about to sleep; A bright azure screen appeared, altering the course of his life forever.

It's a great story and I can't wait to read more! I hope you are able to come back to it some day and finish it. There's still so much to happen yet. Also can't wait to see how they all manage to handle the orc chieftain. What's more, what is day 3 going to be like, the difficulty seems to scale up so fast.

I saw some 3 star reviews of the title about the story not making sense and had to disagree even when I first started reading the book. It might seem like there's not too much information given about the world but that's because the main character has no idea what is going on around them. The few times that the story is through the observer just add some depth to the story without giving away much

I actually joined RR just to comment on how much I have enjoyed this. The story has it all! A weak, but getting stronger main character, loot (my personal favorite!), great fights that are NOT overdone. There are unique classes, skills, innate abilities and of course, the mystery (danger?) hidden in the background. But...the best part for me was the fantastic world building! The author didn't go on a three page bender to describe a tree. I found the descriptions perfect and easy to imagine as I read. I almost wish I would have found this later, so I could binge read more!
The main guy is a little annoying at the beginning, but he works through it. The side characters are an eclectic bunch and not cookie cutter in any way. I like how you have different "main" side characters during the time loop, so we get to see different kinds of fights. The status windows are informitive easy to follow. I do not have any issues with the story pacing, the speed feels right. I think I saw a couple of misspelled words, but I really have no room to talk with my own bad grammar. I don't really have any criticisms, this is just a great litrpg story!
I have a bit of hope that crafting will eventually become a part of the story. I understand it isn't feasible right now because of the trials, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be added! And if we even more lucky, it'll be something a bit different. 😊

My reviews are simple and based almost entirely on my level of excitement for when a new chapter drops.  This story is fun in the same way that I found Master Hunter K exceptionally fun.  There are progressive trials without much character depth or worldbuilding.  The author may change this approach over time, and I would be okay with that, though I am enjoying the simplicity.
As with so many litrpgs, the main character has a major advantage but he also has some significant disadvantages.  He is strong, but not yet OP and I like how his build is shaping up.
    Thanks for the read Zarth!

This a a story that is growing as it progresses, by that I mean you can see the authors growth as the chapters increase. The author is going through some shifts as they write and their progression starts to show. The story has a lot of promise and seems like it could be a real contender.
The world and system are still being fleshed out at this point. What we are given is in some ways very familiar and basic to the genre so it's easy to infer what things are. From what we are given up to this point there seems to be a lot of room to grow.
The MC is a little frustrating at times with his behavior and shifting personality. I am unsure if this is due to intent because of the situation or if the author is finding his MC. It doesn't detract from the story for me but it is noticeable.
Overall I really like what has been put out so far and see where this story could go. Lots of potential here I think with the author showing improvement in some areas already.

Overall pretty good. The main character is just starting to develop so I'm curious to see where he goes. At the moment I am neutral to his personality.
The skills are fairly standard but I like how they are implemented.
Grammar and spelling are a little below average so be prepared. However, I don't judge the author harshly for this as it appears that English isn't their primary language. If this ever goes to print all of this would be cleaned up anyways.
I look forward in seeing how this develops.

An interesting start if not very different in initial appearance to any other system apoc, as they usually have a tutorial anyway, the real difference will be in another 10 or 15 chapters when his death affinity (but not necessarily in a grimdark fashion) will come further to life.
Would have rated 5, however 3 days in and only a few chapters are yet enough content to justify it.

Here we are, another one of the progression litrpg type fics where it gets about 50 chapters in, and the author loses interest.   It was an above-average opening with showing over telling and mysteries around the worldbuilding.  The MC had some annoying moments, but I liked the story enough to follow.  So four months of no updates later, I'm leaving a review and telling the author it wasn't a bad story. You could have kept going.  Thanks for sharing.
To other readers, the story is incomplete, and there is no point in falling in love with it if there will never be an update.

I don't know if it is intentional of the writer or not but the mc is so overwhelmingly frustrating that it's taking me everything I have to not close the tab and read 5 sentences per day. It's the mc's cowardice, that the writer is doing well. It's how the mc and his monologue react, respond and treat the observer along with the whole trials and missions stuff.
"As if that was anything we’d love to do at this moment… But none of us had any choice, right?"
Yes, you do! He literally gives you everything to survive and grow stronger and the mc throws cow shit at him for doing his job. What do you want him to do? NOT give you the missions so when you finish the trials you become a slave cleaning cow dong on the roads? He explains everything perfectly and the mc is there choking on air and thinking how all this is unfair and that he has no choice. Yes you do, either commit suicide, let something or someone kills you, spend the rest of your time sleeping until the observer throws out the useless ones, become a slave to someone stronger or bag boy for a group, be part of a group, form a group, let someone carry you, get stronger and do missions do take revenge or whatever, get stronger because you are not stupid, improve yourself by just fricking surviving on your own terms, etc.
The observer says like his catchphrase that humans are weak, disappointing, pathetic and the only thing the mc thinks of is, OH I literally won't accept a literal asset that WILL more than double my corrent power for, pride. I'll say, wow man remember that time I could have gotten a life saving miracle for free but decided not to to preverse my pride? Well I'm so happy I made that decision because now I have this pretty and warm dark red pool coming out of me AND I have my pride, neat. Only reason i'm still reading is the hope that the mc will get better and because the story has potential IF the mc gets better.
