Description
Out of hiatus, but with a hitch. . Read most recent "chapter", Status Update, for more info.
Trapped for thousands of years. Betrayed by the ones he held dear, the ones he called family. Finally set free by happenstance, Amrin sets out to find the ones that locked him in the heart of a mountain. Find the answers he's been asking himself while conscious within the darkness. The world has changed in his time away. Learning new things, meeting new people, struggling with questions he may never get the answers to. He will journey through this new world and search for the "family" that betrayed him and figure out why they did it. If they did not have the answers he was looking for, there would be consequences.
*This is a VERY HEAVY story driven fiction (read: can be slow!). There are some sections of action, drama and soon/eventually, mature related content (sexuality and gore). There are going to be sections with lots of text and little dialogue. There's going to be sections with lots of dialogue and little descriptive narration. ***Word of warning and advice. To save yourself the potential disappointment! The MC is mostly a pacifist! If you're looking for a super OP protagonist that uses his powers to get what he wants and to hell with the consequences, this story IS NOT for you. There are times when it should be obvious why, other's it's only implied. Either way, if you are expecting "shoot first ask questions later" mentality from the MC, regardless of how powerful he is, save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere.
I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all the readers and commenters of my story. It's all the positive feedback and comments that really give me the motivation to keep going. Honestly. It sounds cheesy, but it's true. So, again. Thank you!

Well, my first impression of this fiction is how well written it. So far it has drawn me into universe, which is both interesting and very immersive.
The grammar is perfect, or at least as far as I can tell.
The characters introduced are interesting, though because we aren't very far into the fiction it is impossible to tell if the author will continue with this quality. Though I am certain he will.
Now, as this is a review I am suppose to find something I that needs improvement. But in all honesty, I'm struggling to find a single thing. So, I resort to scrapping the very bottom of the barrel, that being that I prefer the paragraphs to be broken into smaller section, because blocks of text sometimes make things more difficult to read. However, when the only negative is something so menial, it clearly speaks of the high quality of the fiction. - habeshabroRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I know this is only the beginning of the book and if I am wrong I will update my review but after reading two chapters I can say that the grammar is excellent and the author weaves a rich tapestry with his characters that will probably make a tale that would become one of the better ones on royal road and I'm writing this so everybody will remember that....I noticed its greatness first!!!
- HolyPriestRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This must be one of the best stories I've read so far on Royal Road. It feels like a proper fantasy book and its style and grammar is comfortable to read.
Armin reminds me a bit of Ged from Earthsea, or maybe Belgarad (albeit less scrupulous). There are not too many chapters as of yet, but so far I love the story and the characters.
I hope for many more chapters to come! - LowkeyLokeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Now usually I would just read a fiction and not comment about it but with yours I must give you a review.
Everything that you have done so far in this story is really good . Every chapter I read gives me the impression that you have spent a great deal of time in thinking just how everything should play out. I pretty much gave everything five stars which should give anyone an idea of how highly I consider your story . I hope you continue to write this story and even finish it, heck I wouldn’t mind hearing that one day in the future you have published this fiction that you’re writing - RagDollCthulhuRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5After reading the review that the guy before me posted, I tried this book, and it was well written and structured. I think it may very well be the start of a great story.
- TrollRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is one of the best stories I read on this website until now.
Let me give some feedback:
Characters:
I am very fascinated with your mc. He is an amazing person to be honest,
because he has this unshakeable selfcontrol. Even though he has a good reason to just kill his enemies he still gives them the time to explain their actions. There is just so much mercy inside him! A big heart that is ready to forgive if one repents, even though after those eons of living and watching people kill and mutilate each other one would expect him to be jaded. I love how you portray his inner struggle and am pretty curious about the exact cause of the uncharacteristic anger he goes through.
The sidecharacters are no less interesting. First of all I must admit that your cast is pretty big! That is not a problem though. I have no idea how exactly you did it but I never mixed up any names or characters. There was never a sense of confusion and definitely no 'who was that again?' moment. I can only attribute this to your writing style and the fact that you spend lots of time on characterization. Most characters are fleshed out in one way or another and those that are a bit meager as of yet will most likely be characterized in the future. The only complaint I can think of is the character of Adalyn. She feels pretty out of place to be honest.
She just accepts all these impossible things way to easily for my taste. I hope she is significant in the future plot somehow...
That was the only complaint concerning your characters so you get 4.5 stars there.
Style and Pace:
It´s pretty slow at first. Much characterization and some moments where you are left to wonder whether they can´t just be quiet and do something more interesting.
The meeting with that weird Lenaris was one of those seemingly pointless scenes.
Now I don´t want to nag at every scene I didn´t like but this is just a prime example of pointlessness to me. I don´t mea - krunrRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0While the chapters that are out so far arn’t very high, the story so far has lots of promise. look forward to reading more of this story.
- LockeRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0'Review’ as of Chapter Four.
I can hardly properly score such a young story, nor can I criticize or judge the characters and their development.
But what I can do is give you my ‘first’ impression.
Reads well, interesting, not (fantasy on RRL being what it is) clichéd and generally a good read.
Presuming overall quality does not deteriorate it is highly recommended. - jhncansonRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Don't get me wrong, This is a great story.
Every aspect of it is GOOD, if not better.
My problem is that the MC is timid. All the hype about him being someone of the past who held prestige and power being timid isn't exactly my cup of tea.
It's like im reading a japanese novel, a masochistic OP mc.
Hopefully it does not turn out that way. There's only so few chapters in but nonetheless, the few interactions he had till chapter two tells me otherwise. - ElyasRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I honestly think this novel is great but I really don't like how the MC interacts with other characters like how he is trying to form a harem with every female character and they all just happen to have a reason to fall in love with him like needing his help with something. It feels like he is trying to flirt with every character that comes by. Maybe I misinterpreted what type of novel this was meant to be but I guess I was hoping for something more than OP mc walks around doing op things and getting a harem with 100 girls with a little bit of story in between. Also his personality when interacting with some of the female characters just seems way too weak considering he's lived for god knows how many years and probably already had a wife or 2. I dunno he just seems way too beta and thirsty for some super op immortal.
