In the heart of nothingness, he made a pact with an ancient and forgotten force—the Abyssal Dragon. Reborn in darkness, Ryojin escapes the abyss not as a man, but as something far more powerful... and far more dangerous.
Now, he returns to the world that tried to erase him, burning with vengeance.
But every power has a cost.
And the darkness he commands is spreading—through his body, his soul, and his mind.
Is he the harbinger of justice? Or the beginning of the end?
A story of revenge, power, and the curse that comes with both—step into the world of Ryojin Kurohane, where redemption is a myth, and survival means becoming the very thing you once feared.

- I.slay.dragonsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This opening scene is awesome! it throws you right into the action with intense imagery, a strong main character, and a world that feels alive. The battlefield is brutal, the stakes are high, and Ryojin Kurohane immediately stands out as someone caught between two forces way bigger than himself. His refusal to bow to the gods makes him instantly compelling, and Seraphiel feels like a proper celestial powerhouse without being a generic "holy warrior" type.
The transition to the Abyss is smooth, eerie, and straight up chilling. The way the darkness whispers and moves makes it feel like a living thing, and the reveal of the Abyssal Dragon? Incredible. The sheer scale of it is terrifying, and the idea that Ryojin might be like it sets up some crazy potential for what’s next.
On the technical side, the grammar and structure are solid. The sentence flow is smooth, with a good balance between longer, descriptive passages and short, punchy sentences that add impact.
There’s some use of repetition, especially with the whispers and the void, which reinforces the eerie atmosphere. But , a few moments could be tightened for even stronger pacing, but overall, it reads really well.
Overall, this is a fantastic start. Cinematic, gripping, and full of mystery. I’d absolutely keep reading!
