Description
Orphaned by his family, Botuk is forced to labour in sandy fields for rations of food and water. He aches for the day he’ll face those who abandoned him, desperate to ask:Why?Why leave him alone in this unrelenting hell?
But his dream falls to tatters when his overseer conspire to use him as bait. Now everyday he consumes life to feed the life that is leaving him — always on death’s door.
Yet his troubles are endless, because the world is more mysterious than he imagines. And eldritch creatures roam the waking world, treating him as their next meal.
Should he abandon his search like his family abandoned him, or fight back against the eldritch horrors, eating them to live another day?
What will he do to survive? For there is no escape from this prison, unless the Warden is his next meal.

- Avyck3721Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It is hard to write new worlds with new rules. So far, this new world is immersive and intriguing to follow. It reads like something from a seasoned vet. It's immersive and does a fantastic job of showing rather than telling. Because of that I felt like I was walking with the character instead of floating. The MC is relatable, and his thought process is believable. If I had one critique it might be to break up the chapters a bit more. Although this is more of a personal preference then an actual critique. This is worth the read five chapters in and I am ready for more.
