In general this fiction is a very engaging and in depth read. It follows the life of Mateo, a citizen of a fantastical city in which different races coexist. Racial tension is a large factor in the initial stages of the fiction, and the main character is just trying to live his life, until he finds something that changes his world forever.
The style of the story is quite good, with nice transitions between sentences, and very few examples of stilted writing. It could feel a little bit slow at times, but that is a necessary sacrifice for the rich storyline. I liked the natural flow of the wiring, and how the city in which the story takes place is portrayed.
The story was phenomenal, with layered and well written worldbuilding and background. This is perhaps the strongest part of the work as a whole, and it was one of my favorite parts. The exposition was great as well, diving straight into the history of the city and where the MC fits into it.
The grammar was great, with few errors, and it accentuated the style nicely. Compared to many other poorly edited works on Royal Road, this story was a breath of fresh air.
The characters are quite detailed and I enjoyed their interactions with each other, as well as the way that the main character acts.
In conclusion, it is a very well put together and cohesive read, with many strong suits and few downsides.
