Under the leadership of Carleas Brytenlond, it is not guaranteed that all will prosper. Despite its advanced state in regards to magic and technology, the country has not been able to move forwards in regards to social policy. Vicious imperialism has next to no opposition, and all the usual, unrelenting power structures of an abbhorent state are present: Things like racism, patriarchy and general bigotry go unquestioned by both those who have hoarded power and also the general populace despite the demonstrable harm they cause. This is the story of a boy who belongs to culture that has nearly been erased. This is a story about perseverance.
