- DoguDukRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far as of chapter 48 I have been really ennjoyed reading this novel. The novel has many characters that interact with each other well and the plot of the story is engaging for the reader. Overall I enjoy this novel and recommend reading this if you enjoy a tree protagonist and cultivation stories.
- Clawdius_TaloniousRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story doesn't waste the reader's time the way some other tales might take aeons to go anywhere. There's no faffing about with explaining a crafting system that never gets used or other such weirdness.
You could pretty directly compare this to Reborn as a Demonic Tree, though. Gacha components and a sect are pretty flexible ideas, so they diverge immediately, and more with time.
I think this one's worth reading and keeping an eye on. - GummybearRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0So far I have been really enjoying this novel, so far the main critique that I have of it is the lack of connection between tree plot and outside world plot, although I imagine the will connect soon, so far they have felt very seperate and there are a few plotlines that don't seem to have the times matching up. If you like tree novels, I would definitely recommend reading this though.
- BsonRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I'll say about this that the technical writing is ok in that there are few spelling errors, and the writing has a sort of infectious energy to it.
Otherwise, it's a mess. The pacing of both the prose and the story jumps around with no rhyme or reason, the characters have no depth or consistency, the system is obnoxious, the cultivation stuff is divorced from its cultural roots, paragraphs are just mashed together, and in general the whole thing feels like a plastic copy of the antecedent stories it clearly draws from.
