- Ghost_TeegrukRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Really good read I enjoyed every second of this book. It dragged me in and held me by the nose until this book was over 100 out of 10. if you’re looking Reincarnation novel that is as real as it gets read this it’s good, I especially like the changes you’ve made to the base world of Marvel
- Hombre GrandeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’ve read very few FF that keep consistent pacing and still manage not to devolve completely into wish fulfillment.
This reads like a Marvel Original AU and fits into the world perfectly. The characters are well written. They feel real enough to empathize with and immerse into this world with. The development is there in both plot, characters, and audience special interest. (Powers, other characters, etc.)
There are real surprises too that keep you interested.
The Author balances your focus on “power ups”, and other interest, while still maintaining relevant plot points in a way I’ve very rarely seen.
I can’t give enough kudos for managing to write this and stick with a character, story, and an idea without devaluing the premise and staying true to the worlds spirit.
Good FF is hard to find but this is one that you can bank on.
PS to Auth.
The 4.5 is because of the way it felt like the Jubilee love interest was almost forced on the MC. I do not dislike her but the development of the other interests make them so much more likable. The contrast is so stark to me it almost makes Jubilee’s actions off putting. I say this in comparison to the complexity you created for the others her Arc felt more like a pre-decided plot point that had been forced.
Thank you for your hard work! - bdf2Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story captures the kind of old school heart and heroism I used to associate with super heroes as a kid. Turning the other cheek to clear up misunderstandings and prevent escalation with those who could be future allies.
At the same time the MC grows beyond the naivete of the marvel storylines it goes through with use of lethal force where warranted though always as a last resort.
The characters have a real depth to them and I find myself quite invested in their outcomes.
Finally the little tweaks to the storylines as a result of the butterfly effect of changes the MC makes are actually up to par with the original stories and respectful of the source material's intent and themes in making the tweaks.
I have a blast reading this. - ElorieRoyal Road★★ 1.5As an outsider with knowledge of the setting, you'd expect the new Rogue to be a winner.
After all, the power can be controlled, and once controlled - it is possibly the greatest of them all.
You know who the bad guys are and where/when to find them, as well as their powers.
What we get instead is the usual Rogue, a victim.
Pretty standard innuendo with the X-girls, but no touchee, some demon-hunting in Limbo.
Other than that, mutants are the usual losers. Falling for Professor X's bullshit is probably worse than falling for Magneto's brand of idiocy.
I mean, just practice on animals until you have control, is that so very difficult? - AvidReaderRoyal Road★ 0.5Mc is very victim minded, so I read till I got tired of it. Someone else mentioned it but I don’t understand why he doesn’t explore his abilities more. Like he knows that Rogue can learn to control her abilities, he says he wants to himself, and then he just never doesn’t anything about it. Why?
I also don’t really get the point behind making him someone from the real world. He never actually uses his meta knowledge for anything useful.
In all honesty the X-men would be better off with actual Rogue, and not Mr. “grrr, woe is me I have sabertooth in my head influencing my behaviors”.
Like its Sabertooth bruh get over it, I can only imagine where the internal monologues and plot will go if he absorbs a mutant with 2 brain cells to rub together. He’d probably get subsumed by their personality or something else dumb.
