Rise of the Keeper

Description
A regular Halloween holiday in a small town is turned upside down by powers beyond Joshua Hale's perception. He's found himself in the possession of a strange crystal claimed by a god of another world and is given a hard choice. Perish, or go to a different world where monsters are being thrown at him, some friendly, others not. He will have to figure out this strange new world of stats and skills quickly if he wants to adapt to survive. On the way he will make some interesting friends and with a dash of luck he might just rise to the challenge to become a true Keeper.
This fiction is a fun pet project I've always wanted to try.(I'll try to mark the explicit chapters.)
A massive shout out and thanks to my pal Silberfrost for making the amazing cover art!
Chapter updates should be on Sundays at 9pm AST

- heishikenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Can only recommend this Story, I might be a bit biased since I love Dungeon Keeper Games and the Story is very similar. It is something i have not seen on RR before so its a breath of fresh Air that just make you want to keep reading. Can only recommend this Story to anyone who likes Dungeon Keeper games or the Dungeon Keeper Genre in general.
- Andrei_SokolovRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The background, world building and dungeon system are interesting but not something extraordinary or breathtaking. The main reason I found this story is sexual content warning and I am enjoying this part so far. Author marks "explicit" even chapters with very little erotic content. Smut is plot related and grows with slow realistic pace. The best part is author tastes: tall fit strong girls with abs. Rare species on RR indeed. And fortunately MC is not a weakling, he gives as much as he gets, so power dynamic is not absurd. But character interaction has potential for improvement.
- PekoraShineRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'm not a big NSFW/harem guy generally, so take that into account where my score is concerned. This story is good fun, and while it has some amateurish elements and mistakes in the writing, plus a theme I'm not too fond of, it's still an enjoyable read that I'd recommend trying out if it seems at all your speed.
It's visibly improved as chapters have gone on, and I expect if that continues it will be indisputably worth a read for anyone who likes this subgenre of LitRPG.
Keep it up! - Daniel CowanRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The story is a decent read. The World building is okay, could use some more info on the surrounding area, or the world itself,
I do like the characters introduced so farr (mostly), though our doormat beta male MC leaves much to be desired. That said, there has been slight improvement to him.
The fight scenes are pretty good, descriptive and easy to follow.
Can't say much about the explicit chapters. Not the best that I've read, but far from the worst.
My main issue is the MC. I mentioned my dislike earlier, but to be specific, most of his interactions with kin piss me off to no end. Her antics would be okay in moderation. Unfortunately, it happens nearly every time she shows up.
Overall, it's aa good read, and easy to enjoy. - PatternRoyal Road★★★ 2.5Imagine playing as a DnD charcter, except your always the shortest, weakest, dumbest least knowledgeable person in the room.
You have no real personal objectives and are subject to the whims of your companions and random divine quests.
Your perpetually facing enemies far stronger than you and yet, while you're smart enough to surround yourself with powerful allies, often empowering them at the cost of yourself, you send them away at the most critical times.
This isn't helped by the MCs personality, that of a doormat that's constantly tripping, slipping, stuttering, blushing, while subject to verbal abuse that often crosses the line from friendly banter, to the 'punching down' snide remarks you'd find in toxic relationships and out right bullies.
Meanwhile the author does everything in their power to maintain this dynamic, with horrificly slow growth dispite the constant conflict and intermittent training (3 levels in 9 months of chapters.)
The grammar and world building is good, but the authors heavy handed preferences lead to a general lack of growth, be it physical, personality or otherwise, for not just the MC, but all charcters in general.
With the character development frozen solid, and with the litrpg elements abandoned (I don't think I've seen a full charcter sheet in 40 chapters) I'm going to have drop. - Michael111Royal Road★ 0.5Giving the MC misfortune is not funny.
MC punching himself in the groin is just plain wrong.
The plot is happening to the MC, the MC should be the driving force of the plot.
Beased on the description of the story, I thought I would like this, but I am very disappointed.
