You’ve read this. You know THIS. The story is heavily inspired by "Familiar of Zero". I personally hold little interest for cliché stories and I’m ever-hoping to come across a novel take on the isekai genre. One that will focus on the tradition, politics, lore, relations and all the other fun stuff without being drowned out by magic this and power that.
Thus, I’m ever pulled by interesting story names. Put "King" in your story, and I’ll most likely click on it. I’ll be betrayed, of course. Such is the quality of works here on RR.
Style:
This tale enjoys no such fancies. The author is probably new to writing, as we get no set-up or foundation. No descriptions of emotions or actions to foster immersion. I hate this. I despise the "telling and not showing" approach that seems abundant on this site. If you want the readers to harbour some attachment to your characters, then pull them in with great storytelling.
This story has none of that. It also has no unique tone or any hints of periodic tone. It just tells…and tells. And tells.
I believe my judgement fair. 2/5!
Story:
When I said this was heavily inspired, I meant it. The plot is that of Familiar of Zero. MC gets summoned as a familiar. Summoner is an arrogant noble girl. MC gets called a commoner because he has no magic. MC is enslaved. MC has an ancient power. Arrogant noble girl probably has a tragic backstory. Arrogant noble girl is probably the female lead.
The only different thing is that the story is fast-paced.
If it were possible, I’d give this a zero.
Grammar:
I haven’t noticed any. Unfortunately I have to cut the perfect score to make up for the atrocious Story and Characters.
Characters:
I don’t like them. All of them are one dimensional to the extreme, main character included. Also, the MC is kinda crazy, and not in a good way.
Conclusion
Not a great story or premise. But if you’ve never suffered through Familiar of Zero, you’ll probably find this story novel to read. And don’t let my review deter you f
