Description
Arthur Goodman, a former world-class butler, is now a miserable, retired, old man stuck in a lifeless care facility. Deprived of his strength, robbed of his memories of his precious family, and lacking in any hope of reprieve as time marches ever forward. As for an old man like him death lingers around every corner, he feels completely hopeless and as if he was dead already.
However, when the system arrives and Earth is integrated into the wider multiverse, Arthur manages to recover his strength and wits and then some. The guiding light of purpose once again illuminates his world, as he recovers the sense of duty and responsibility that he felt as a younger butler.
Driven by this desire to serve, and the need to protect and provide for his only surviving grandchild, Lucas, he leaves a decimated Earth behind and sets out on a journey to find a worthy master in and amongst the infinite stars. For he is the Cosmic Butler.

- Operation TrebuchetRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0System integration story with an old butler as the MC. He starts off in his 90s in a nursing home, not even able to remember the names of his grandchildren, then he goes up from there. The professionalism, competence, and nobility of the MC are really endearing. The worldbuilding of the multiverse of the System is also cool, and I can't wait to see more. I like system novels but usually you see lone wolves or conquerors, so to see an MC approach it all from the perspective of a butler is a breath of fresh air. In short: Good story. Give it a read.
PS: If the butler looses the grandson I am killing the author - Rookie12Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Before you, we have an interesting story. Usually, the tag post-apocalypse means that everything awesome has already happened in the past. Nope, not in this story. We get thrust straight into action, and it is every bit as gritty, as sad, as amazing, and as cool as you can imagine. The author pulls no punches, masterfully tearing our soul strings to invoke emotions.
Style. No complaints; not a single word wasted. The difference between a time of peace and a time of survival is jarring and surreal, just like it should be.
Story. Excellent and action-packed. We get enough time to learn our MC before the incredible things start happening to the poor man. We are given more than enough hints about the relationships in his family to care for them and worry about their well-being. The MC's strong moral code helps keep him endearing, and the unique situation happening to our planet keeps the attention hooked.
The System. Complicated. I had to re-read a few chapters to remind myself of some traits and how they are leveled. But that is part of the fun. You can see how you can "cheat" the system by turning yourself into an OP, and at the same time, you can see the story reasons why the MC does not do that. Yet.
Grammar. On a phone I saw some weird formatting, but back at the PC, these problems disappeared, so it's probably a problem on my end. I am not an English-speaking person, so take my words with a grain of salt, but I have found no mistakes.
Characters. I like the grandson, and I like the idea of a cool grandpa! My only problem is the MC himself. The dude feels like Rambo, which is a bit weird considering his background. But that feeling soon stopped, and I was able to concentrate on the story.
All in all, the cool mix of the system plus the uniqueness of the setting (the plot will surprise you if you don't read the synopsis like I did), in addition to how well it was executed, makes me want to give the story five stars.
Do you want action? A cool system? Or maybe charac - JoshbrownvtRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Really enjoyable!! Love it! Can’t wait until he actually becomes a butler!

The writing is tight and evocative, with a stark, surreal contrast between peace and survival.
The narrative is action-packed, quickly endearing us to the main character and his family, set against a unique planetary crisis. The System is complex, adding depth, though the MC's initial 'Rambo' vibe fades into a more nuanced character.
Minor formatting issues aside (likely on my end), the book combines a gripping plot, a well-thought-out system, and dynamic characters. A solid five-star read for fans of action and deep character development. - AdlezRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I think the story is really good because it blends cultivation with Litrpg without any of the “young master” kowtowing crap that’s so prevalent in every other cultivation story. So good shit.
word count requirement word count requirement word count requirement word count requirement word count requirement word count requirement word count requirement - Cloud WalkerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I personally liked all the how well written and the only nitpick I could have is the receptiveness of his family getting injured it's like how Vader force chokes almost anybody in the movie it just starts getting repetitive.
Like “Oh Lord Vader force choked another soldier of well let's continue about our day”
Beside that I really the way the MC deals with most of his problems by being resourceful and showing concern in moments and how sometimes he makes mistakes and those mistakes have consequences. That just makes his character more realistic instead of those “I am OP MC I am the paragon of goodness and I can do no wrong”
That concludes my review goodbye and thank you - KittyJinglesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The high personal stakes and world-changing drama engaged me enough to suspend my disbelief and carry over minor plot bumps. The main character is an old man with regrets who becomes extremely powerful. His goals and desires are so relatable and believable, it makes it easier to swallow some of the over the top stuff. I'm hoping there's going to be some explanation for why a decrepit octogenarian is so OP, there very well might not be (besides luck, or it just is) so don't go into it expecting that payoff. Ignoring that, it's a lot of fun! Up until it gets kinda tense and less light
The main characters are emotionally believable. I mostly liked watching the struggle, the hope and tension was good drama. My gripes about characters are the dead or non-existent women (The first non-dead female character is a villain subjugating the earth ten chapters in.) and I dunno if I'll get a payoff sticking around reading emotional trauma (the author is good at making you feel things, not all of it is comfortable.) The prose isn't exactly tight there's not much voice, but it's readable and clear writing despite some grammar issues. Lots of tension with a decent pace.
It has lots of action and it goes from mild angst to a kinda dark read (there's all the dead people apocalypse dark stuff, rape is mentioned, the characters aren't too bogged down by it which I dunno if it makes it better or worse). There's some funny moments, but mainly enjoy it an action progression family drama.
If you like OP good guy characters given a second chance, and don't mind dark somewhat triggery stuff try this - dada11dada22Royal Road★★★ 2.5I think this novel is well written, but I just detest every bit of this genre. I find it quickly boring without any stakes what do ever and you'll find that everything thing goes the MCs way.
While there is trauma for his family and they get absolutely screwed, I feel this won't be any challenge for the MC to save his family or he will be forced to kill them, but I assume the former is going to happen. The stakes feel artificial, when you won't expect anything bad to happen to our mc.
If you like the overpowered MC genre, then this is well written and probably one of the better ones. The characters aren't badly written.
