Honestly speaking the main character and the plot is decently well written. I particularly enjoy the author's take and philosophy on economics of the real world and it's implementation in the fantasy world.
Although it may not be a story for everyone, for those who read the urban life genre, economics, or do-over novels. It's quite good. Nothing above and beyond what you'd expect, but it definitely has its moments.
Grammar could be a little bit better, but as long as there's more chapters. I'm ok with it. I do find the villains to be a little generic, but writing a story is difficult so I won't criticize it to much.

This story reminds me of 'the runesmith' in that the writing isn't the best (grammar issues, telling instead of showing, and I think a chapter in the tournament arc is just missing) but it makes up for it with passion and a rarely seen financial focus to the storyline. It scratches a finance itch I didn't know I had in the same way the Runesmith scratches a crafting itch.
I think the story could improve with (i) some proof-reads and (ii) a reduction in the protagonist's combat potential which would create an interesting limitation and lean away from power-fantasy tropes. However, I hope to see the story continue and I look forward to what's coming next!
p.s. to author: the spice and wolf reference was golden :)
