Description
Jes is a normal twenty-something American dealing with a 2020 that just keeps getting worse. She's driving home for the latest in that series of awful events when she runs headlong into something unexpected.
Nearly 400 years ago, the continent of Charan was embroiled in a terrible war. To stop the war, its inhabitants literally tore a hole in the fabric that holds their world together. The Weave, the magical lines of reality that shape every part of Charan, were torn by great magics. Those magics left a hole in the weave that has since consumed nearly a third of the continent, creating a vast and magicless Outalnds. The Wild Weaves at the edges of the Outlands are a dangerous place.
Archmagi, pushed to the edge by a pursuing army, enter the Wild Weaves and seek to repair the very fabric of reality.
Howard and Clark Franklin, returning soldiers from the Civil War, come back to a home that isn't quite theirs anymore. Restless, they depart again for the West, a new frontier. They get more than they bargained for when one moment they're crossing the prairie and the next they're stepping into a whole new world.
As the unraveling edges of reality fray, two worlds may never be the same.

- TechmanRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0There's a lot of really really good with this story, and a bit that needs work. Overall, it's an interesting read that's just getting started.
Basic premise: On a fantasy world, spellcasters messing around with the fabric of reality inadvertently tear open a rift that connects to modern day Iowa (and also maybe late 1800's Iowa?). This messes with the Weave of magic and reality in both worlds and sets up some interesting interactions as people from the respective worlds begin to bump into each other.
Characters
Characters are amazing, hands down. There are a plethora of different POV from people off various backgrounds reacting to everything that's happening. Every single POV character immediately feels like a fully fleshed out and developed person with their own motivations. It's honestly incredible that the author is able to do this so consistently. Each one could be an MC in their own standalone tale, but they're all woven together to show you the greater whole of things.
Grammar
No noticeable issues with grammar or spelling. Everything is well written and has good flow to it.
Story
Interesting starting premise, detailed world building, but not much has actually happened plot-wise. As much as I love the characters and world building, I think there's too much being introduced too quickly. Too much time being spent on introducing characters, and not enough actually advancing the plot. But that's more a problem with the style.
Style
Again, the characters are all amazingly written, but there's just too darn many for just starting a story. At the time of this review, there have been almost 150 pages written. Only about 24 hours of in-story time have elapsed, but we've been introduced to no less than 6 different factions in the fantasy world plus the humans of Earth. That's 7 different factions with some having multiple POV characters within them. I'm sure it'll all tie together eventually, but at the moment it just feels disjointed.
The story kinda falls into a patter - Eragon9669Royal Road★★★★ 3.5The story could've been good but there's to many story threads and the chapters are really short so it just feels jumpy releasing quickly can be good but maybe slowing downing and having longer chapters would make the story feel less disjointed. It has good grammar and charectors are interesting
