These are some fantastic shorts. Each chapter does a marvellous job lighting a single frame of perdition. Painting a still life of a dying civilization, a single person's experience of the end.
Each end comes with quite the impact in its suddenness, its inevitability. So much so, I feel a Horror tag would have been warranted.
Each downfall unique, every protagonist's perspective formed by their own circumstances. Their civilization, their culture, their very being shaping the end.
I feel cold now. Do you?
I obviously liked these shorts and am giving an icy-cold recommendation to read them. Their style not only shines in the larger frame but also in the text itself. By which I mean it is well written. I was captivated throughout. The occasional grammatical inaccuracy is not worthy of mention even.
I once again want to impress upon you how unique its characters are. Each chapter starts with a new civilization and is thus fundamentally different from the last. Fae and humans can be seen as not the furthest apart, maybe, but ravens? Chapter 3 gets whacky I tell you. The story is trimmed to great effect. In each chapter, we get a coherent perspective, which isn't easy to pull off.

The story of the rise and fall of four different species that take over each other as the dominant one on planet Earth through the eyes of different individuals belonging to them. One can hear distant echoes of Ray Bradbury in this beautiful, yet terrible tale of the everlasting fight for conquest and survival. Thanks for sharing, and thanks to someguynamedted for the recommendation.

A great story, that wasn't too long. However I was so lost by the time I reached the end. I followed up to the end of the third, but I didn't understand the fourth at all.
Even still, it was a great story showing beings in power, only to be replaced in an endless cycle.
