Rewind system apocalypse

The base of this story is that it is a system apocalypse and the main character is one of the only people with the ability to manipulate the system. He gained this ability from the system itself.The power to use the system to assist him was very hard to use at first but it gradually became easier to manipulate the system. Sometime after the whole system apocalypse started ( I haven't decided how long, it might end up being like two years.) one of Zane's very close friends died and he couldn't do anything about it. He tried sending his consciousness into the past but the system would not let him do it because of the power imbalance it would cause.Due to this unfortunate setback, Zane had to send a trusted friend that wasn't as powerful back so that she could pre-awaken his powers and get him to save as many people as he could. The person that was sent back in time is none other than Rachel the voice in his head at the beginning.The reason that she is only a voice in his head is that when her soul collided and merged with itself it caused a black hole effect which trapped her in a pocket demension where time didn't move. It took Rachel at least a week to project her thoughts out to Zane so he ended up not having much time to prepare for the system apocalypse anyway.Zane might have had more time to prepare but Rachel was convinced that he wouldn't have believed her. So she waited until a moment when she could force one of his skills to activate and show him what was going on.Those are most of the ideas that are set in stone for this story so far. I have a few more ideas but I'm not sure if they will be part of the story yet so I'm not going to write them down right now.
