- Tavo tevasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I would literally lick his tennis balls, if he would fix his grammar more, aswell would like to try out to do a helicopter for lunch, but with a plot twist, he is a bengal tiger with a walrus up inside his asshole
- LoDRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Great concept, this is a very orginal isekai. The MC is taken back in time and put in the body of a king. But it's 15 years before a Revolution and the factors that started the Revolution are already in motion. Can he reform things before the country chops his head off ?
Right of the bat the story is engaging, the MC understands his situation and adapts to it rather smoothly.
This is historical based and the author is clearly pretty heavy handed with his research. But his exposition leaves a bit to be desired.
For example, he goes into much detail about the history of the provincial parliaments and the fact that they oppose the king. But does a poor job at explaining what their role / powers are and why they're such a hastle to deal with.
It feels like the author is putting to much focus making sure he gets the details right at the detriment of smooth storytelling.
(Author, if you read this, don't be afraid to take shortcuts and dumb down some of the issues. We know History is very complex and the average reader of an Isekai fiction will not hold it against you if you take a few creative liberties)
The release schedule is also a bit depressing. - Promise O. K.Royal Road★★★★ 4.0Ahhhhhh!!!! This guy releases one chapter a year!!!!! $%%&!!@'f

So let's talk about the story now it is really great I normal love kingdom building and this one does not have that yet but it just tickles that itch I will say if this gets picked up again will definitely read it.
- VafbrudnirRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story is at it's core a great idea. I love the concept and I love where it is going. Unfortunately the writing itself is a bit on the lacking side. With subpar grammar making the flow a bit choppy and inconsistent, on the plus side royal road does sport a suggest edits feature (albeit it's disabled for this series) and it gets better in the later chapters (chapter 24 as of this review) though not perfect it's much easier to read.
Whilst I can see the appeal in nerding out about historical facts and the details of the time period it does make very sudden walls of text that feel jammed in breaking the flow, mostly just hoping it gets incorporated into the text in a natural manner. You can see this when historical people get introduced (which happens to be most of them) or when their outfits are described, just remember the reader can fill in some blanks and the vibe so to say is more important than the exact pieces.
Ironically I find that some things are underdescribed, especially the interactions between characters. The environment and the characters need to mix, as of now they mostly stand separately.
I hope the review was helpful and for other readers I do recommend reading it because it scratches that historical fiction itch.
Best wishes - Vaf
Also please more chapters I'm starved for content :) - TomWritesRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I saw this while browsing the new fictions page and the premise drew me in. The historical details so far (just 1 chaper) are interesting and provide a nice window into the time period of pre-revolutionary france.
The main character is a typical 'reincarnated but remembers everything' and hasn't really had the opportunity to strike out on their own yet or show much of their personality. This review might just be too early, but so far the character needs some developement.
Grammar is mostly ok, though the punctuation use needs some work (commas in particular). Style/flow is a little rough though: the story is using very short paragraphs which can be jarring, and sometimes the topic shifts within paragraphs in a bit of a strange way.
Overall: not bad at all for a first story and from a non-native speaker of English. I'm going to keep an eye on it and read more chapters! I would guess that it will only improve with more writing and as the plot unfolds.
