Description
Lives are like dust in in a raging storm, frail, and numerous. The world is already dead, the hope, and salvation that once existed were buried by their own filthy hands. The one frail beam of light that illuminated the darkness, and lead the path to life, was snuffed out by the masses.I can only watch in despair, and contempt as the world around me crumbled, as the screams of torment signalled a new day, and the cries of anguish sent me to a chilly sleep. It was all their fault, their greed, arrogance, and self conceit. As I wait for the end of the world, cursing those long dead, I accepted my pathetic end.Warning: This is merely a side project in which I will not pour too much time into, it is just an on, and off thing when I'm bored, or have free time. Do not expect predetermined continuity, or a set release schedule.

- Boy BayawakRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Nice read. I recommend this if you want a story that is very strong at the start.
Style: the author won't make it hard for the reader to make the scene out of your imagination (literally very far from my style) the beautiful flowing words is so good which brings me to the next part:
Grammar: Grammar is good. He got a good grasp of it. It feels as if he had been writing for a long time.
Story: story is good. It was really interesting. Especially the start. I wonder who will be his wife (since he has a child).
Character: not enough story to make out the MC. Unlike Arnold who literally had 2 chapters but the chapter where he was fighting with his wits. That was the chapter that you did the good spaces. The MC is quite clever hahaha I like it.
But it's probably all part of it right? The Main Character's revelation and his progression is all part of the plan (Wink) it's probably going to get better as the story goes on. Nice one!
Overall: I need more!!! I really enjoyed the story and learned many things. Especially your style (Wink). And knowing what would happen builds up anticipation. Nice work! - HermitofmiseryRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style is great. Use of very complex words sometimes, some might view as +ve but -ve for me.
Story is very good right now. The progression is great. Keep it up. Latest chapters the story is going uphill.
Grammar is perfect. No noticeable mistakes seen.
Characters are in depth and nice to see thought process of all characters. Overall good work.
To work on:
Slow progression at start which can be improved.
What I like:
The concept of Wasteland and Reverie is very unique. Very new but sometimes hard to understand. Otherwise it is great.
The plot is very good. The amount of things happening is a lot. Many things happen in the background like Kaiser and his plot, etc. Keeps the story flowing and interesting. Love this aspect of the story.
The first chapter showing Helios power is amazing can't wait to reach there.
Right now Helios character depiction is so good. He has so much area for improvement and so much potential for growth to become who he is in first chapter.
The language is also very good. I can't believe author is Nepali and not native English speaker.
I read here without account but once i knew it was Nepali writer I had to make review.
Also author should contact royal road app. App doesn't show this novel. I had to use website to find. - PridoolRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Initially, I didn't have high expectations for the book. The premise seemed overdone, and I thought the characters might be one-dimensional. However, as I delved into the story, I was pleasantly surprised. The plot is intricate and well-crafted, with unexpected twists that keep you engaged. The characters are richly developed, each with their own unique backgrounds and motivations. The author's writing style is captivating, blending vivid descriptions with deep emotional insights. What seemed like a run-of-the-mill story turned out to be a profoundly moving and thought-provoking read. It's genuinely impressive and far exceeded my initial expectations.
- ShirimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0You read that title right. All five of us have a new story to latch on to! Seriously, though, this story feels like a Vanillaware game's story. Multiple important characters, plotting and scheming, hidden motives, and unreliable narrators are all over just the four chapters I read and I can't wait to see where the author takes it! Let's get through the advanced review stuff.
Style: I enjoy the presentation very much. Poetic isn't the word I'd normally use to describe someone's writing, but this story very much fits that bill. It's easy to read is what I'm saying, and every character has a distinct voice.
Story: I can't get too much into that without spoiling, so you're gonna have to trust that rant from above is my story review. All I can say is that the Anti-Hero Lead tag earns its position very quickly into this series.
Grammar: Readable. No complaints here.
Character: Where the story shines, though I'm biased because I value character writing over all else. So many stories tend to have bloated or trope-y characters, but this story introduces a few and makes them matter. I appreciate that so much because it gives me as a reader an opportunity to actually develop interest in them and care about what happens to them.
All in all, I think you should read this story. It isn't the usual RR fare, but if you happen to read this review I think you should give it a shot. Especially if you're a fan of Vanillaware games like I am. If you aren't, or have no idea what that even means, then play 13 Sentinels. Be wowed by it. Then read this story. Then come back to this review. You'll see what I mean. - TechmanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very new story (only 3 chapters currently) but this seems like a keeper. Grammar and spelling are perfect, descriptions and details paint vivid pictures, characters are delightful, engaging, and believable. Not much plot yet, but promising plot hooks abound. Fascinating, fantastic world-building with so much more I want to learn about. I eagerly await the next chapter.
- Zhuixing LuochenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0《Reverie: Shadows of Yore》hooks you from the beginning, then continues to real you in with fascinating mysteries and vibrant descriptions that make you want to follow it to the end.
The writer's style is meandering yet ever-moving forward, painting the world with a colorful brush that allows the reader to descend into the scenes for themselves. Every character has their own distinct, unique traits and personality, and from the moment of introduction we already learn one or two important things about them-- but the rest is left to mystery.
A mystery that is continuously unfolding, bits and pieces of information shown through an alternating POV that allows us to know a bit more than the MC, but not enough to know exactly what's going on. Threads of worldbuilding are laid out, and built upon chapter by chapter. By the time of this review, the foundations have been laid, but the structure itself is yet to take shape-- nonetheless, it is evident that the plans are there and I look forward to seeing them realized.
The motivations of the characters, their underlying secrets and their pasts, all remain mysterious, lingering just out of reach. Though things seem a bit dark, there is a distinct sense that there is a reason for all of this-- and I hesitate to judge any of the characters at face value. We can place characters as protagonists or antagonists, but the lines between hero and villain are not so easy to see.
The pacing of this story is a little on the slower side, but in my opinion this is a good feature. It allows time for the clues to be laid out, and to contemplate them while we get to know the characters. I don't feel a need to rush ahead-- I'm more than happy to follow along with Helios' journey, putting the clues together as they appear and following the threads where they lead.
I wish the author all the best in his endeavors, you've truly created a tale that's worth following.
This story has great promise, and is an enjoyable read-- if you enjoy vibrant charac - LifeWisherRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The author has obviously put a lot of thought and work into the story and the world. We start off with a banger of a start that leaves us confused and wanting more. Then, we're brought back in time and slowly introduced to the setting and the characters in it.
The prose is quite distinctive and it took me, personally, some time to get used to but once I did it really grew on me. It serves the story quite well and makes the many twists and turns I've encountered in the 10 chapters I read that much more impactful.
The story is quite unique and written in such a way that leaves the reader wanting more. Various questions are begging for an answer and the author introduces quite a few intriguing characters we want to see and know more about. So, if you're starting this put away a decent chunk of time, because stopping halfway is turning out to be quite difficult.
There were a few sentences on the longer side which I think could use some work and a few instances where 'show don't tell' could be utilized better, but overall the grammar is pristine so I'm just nitpicking here. I think the author improves with each chapter, so it's a non-issue, really. - Mir_HeleverRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is really promising… is what I’d like to say.
But ‘promising’ would have been an understatement. The story and the world are already as good as they are. There are a few minor issues with the writing, but show me an author who writes perfectly.
While reading the story, you can tell that the author has done in-depth research on character building. There are layers and depth to each character. While some have their pasts shrouded in a veil of mystery, for others, despite knowing everything about their pasts, you still ponder their futures.
There are alliances, and similarly, enmities. Yet you cannot define the said characters or groups as completely evil or good. There is no ‘black and white’ theme here.
The main character himself is one such example. Or Arnold, my favorite character. At first, you really get to despise him, but as time goes on and as you get to know the underlying circumstances that he has gone through to become what he is now, you get to empathize and pity him.
Here’s my final verdict:
Despite the story itself taking place in another world called ‘The Wasteland’, the characters themselves are not as deserted. Not only the characters, but also the story. None are deserted at heart or spirit as the author has poured his heart into the making of this novel.
Just go read it! Give it a go! - JurekaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Let's start with style.
The style of this story is quite like LoTM, and I love it. It makes the story feel Mysterieous and exciting. Though it was pretty slow paced at start (sometimes the pace got too fast) it remains consistent after chapter 2 or so.
Story.
I can't say much, because the main story starts to take off by the time Helios enter Reveri. Well, but by how much I read so far I can tell that the author had a fever dream that cause the creation of this unpolished gem. All in all a solid foundation for the upcomming tales. [Edit] now it's getting better, I hope that the author completes his hiatus soon and get back to writing. I can't wait even a day, oh I'll be offline again in two days
Grammar
I am genuinely suprised how flawless the grammaris. I never found a chapter with glaring grammar mistakes when I reread the whole novel again.
Character.
The only character I know for now are Helios and Arnold.
And both are quite tragic (I have a theory that Arnold will be the second MC).
As for now I only know that Helios will become morally gray, but for worse. - NahellionRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I don't read a lot of books, primarily due to my short attention span (video games got me that way, haha) and sometimes being apprehensive about anti-hero leads, mainly because, in my opinion, they are very hard to pull off. Reading through the beginning, I wondered about Helio's motifs and what would've brought him to do what he did. But as I progressed through the chapters, I slowly started to understand what perhaps he had been through and why he might do what he was about to do.
I enjoyed the style immensely, as I need help implementing it in my writing. The story has a good balance between progression and when things need to slow down to etch into the analysis of what might be happening. From what I have read so far, the story is simple enough but not too simple, so it is another outstanding balance. The character, although hesitant, I am feeling and now am left to wonder what brought him to what I believe to be his lowest. I didn't find any notable grammar/spelling issues on my end (and I took my time so I could fully absorb it), so there is nothing to be said here.
All in all, keep up the excellent work.
