With infinite variations of runic magic to discover and with death as a painful soul wound rather than a final end, Noah finally has a chance to wander the lands of the living once again.
And this time, he plans to get strong enough to make sure that he never has to wait around in the afterlife again.

- VaxduperinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I suck at writing reviews so I'll pretty much just paste my review from Amazon onto here :)
This book starts off a tad slow with the MC, Noah, figuring stuff out but picks up nicely as it goes (and go it does!). Noah is like a newborn baby in an adults body when it comes to the ways of his new world, but Actus uses this cluelessness to easily explain the whole runic magic system and world as a whole, in a way that was easy to understand, for myself at least.
As a high school teacher a thousand years fresh out of Uni, Noah finds himself teaching a class and having to overcome his lack of knowledge so that he isn't found out as not from this world.
The story hooked me in right from the start, and I read the first 300 or so chapters in a few days without putting it down. It has a perfect mix of all the essential parts of a good LitRPG-esque book, from the humour to the action to the power progression.
If you love to see the MC in a book overcome overwhelming odds, usually that he put himself into, and usually through death, then what are you waiting for? - XtraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Easy Read. Well-written. Good story that takes it slow at a good pace. Some battle and practice parts can be less interesting and drags on but there are a lot of moments where the story shines and is very captivating and charming. It's strength lies in the characters and their interactions. masterful and excellent. This is heavily inspired by Eastern novels with a xianxia magic school. It is there some obvious like flying swords but others subtle that you may not recognize it like the scene when healing the soul.
- DetroxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Seeing a new novel on top of the rising stars caught my curiosity, and seeing the familiar name of the author piqued my interest.
The opening is very good, and I especially liked the bait the author did with the reincarnation. It was just one paragraph, but I remember how I thought, Huh, so it's this kind of… Nope he got me there.
Style: I loved how the author introduced the story in a smart way, and instead of long info dumps he played into a trait of the main character to slowly explain the necessary information to his audience. Easy 5*
Grammar: Not much to say here, everything felt as it should… easy 5*
Story: As of yet, I am liking the story. It is simple yet enjoyable, no immediate world-ending threats or insane odds stacked against our MC. The only thing I'd call out is at least in my opinion a lack of story promises or future goals. The story is great and binge-reading the first 30ish chapters was very enjoyable, but after I ran out I barely felt the itch of hoping to read the next one as soon as possible. 4.5
Character: Very good characters all around. Feels like a living world and the characters around the main character have their own agency, and aren't there just to serve their singular purpose. 5*
Overall: I'll give it 5* because the quality is among the best of this site and I am curious where the story will lead in the next 50… 100… or even more chapters.
Keep up the great work! - ElieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The start of the book was very similar to another book I won't mention (waiting in line to reincarnate when something goes wrong). Once it really started though I am enjoying the 'teacher' perspective and the unique magic system with the runes. I look forward to the MC getting a bit more power and deeper into the world and learning more about the people and kingdoms, etc.
- Kevinlo1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is an enjoyable piece that is a light isekai, came from earth but doesn't shove the fact down your throat. The mechanics of the magic are interesting and learning about them in time with our main character is well done. The other characters are well made with their own goals and paths. Very good story and I recommend it highly.
- fanfictioneerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So, our protagonist is a somewhat kind and helpful teacher who gets transmigrated after a long while in what passes for Limbo.
Into a magic school (sort of).
So far, so trope-y - but what's this? Our MC has morals, scruples and doesn't want to be a gigantic PoS to everyone? (Just the monkeys)
Follow Noahs journey as a teacher with good intentions, lousy world knowledge, less self restraint than a lemming, and rejoice as he dies over and over again!
It's a fun read, and while I like the "power up" phase, I'm really here for the worldbuilding and the jokes! - DaedosunRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The author manages to make it feel both earthlike and alien, as in it feels like earth but the actual alternate world elements do feel very fleshed out and real to both an alternate world and life as we know it. People have human feeling motivations. The society feels lived in and accurate, particularly the aristocratic element. The magic does have some minor iseki broken system elements for the protagonist but it feels more than outweighed by his lack of knowledge of reality giving him a balanced chance. The heart of the book though is the protagonist. He's both well defined, as in he has definite behaviors and tendencies quirks and ticks well fleshed out, while simultaneously never giving much to define who he is or was. Show don't tell. You see him every day and relevant details come up but how the pieces come together isn't ever focussed on. You end up liking him while constantly wondering about the history that made him who he is. Oddly his personality is a power fantasy when combined with the iseki power fantasy element because his personality simply takes advantage of it so well. It engages the reader because at the end of the day the personality being overpowered kinda justifies itself by default. It's kinda like the punisher as that personality, while very different, is why people assume he wins. The dichotomy alone and radically different storytelling style is worth a dip if only because it might be novel reading material. Though to be honest for me personally this is all window dressing. I rarely encounter a character I can legitimately enjoy. Most don't feel properly human. They feel like an automotons often winning by plot armor. This one doesn't. He feels like a breathing character. Though that is just personal preference. Anyway I very much enjoy the story and look forward to reading more.
- SnuggleCatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0My favorite part of this story is the main character. A lot of reincarnation/transmigration stories have the main character mostly unchanged by death— confused, yes, but still essentially the same person as before they died.
Noah is not this kind of character. His time in the afterlife has reduced his views on death from ‘incredibly scary ending’ to ‘extremely inconvenient, would not recommend.’ What’s more, it’s completely screwed with his sense of time— he’s late to his classes sometimes, and often gets caught up in whatever he’s doing without noticing how long he’s been doing it.
I love all these little character details because it just makes him seem so much more real and interesting. Noah having some extremely strange characteristics makes him more relatable, because those oddities make sense.
Combined with a unique and well thought out magic system, lively side characters, and generally sharp writing, this story makes for great reading. It’s only at the beginning right now, and I’m already far too invested. - theaceoffireRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The main character is confused but relatable, the writing style is interesting and the setting is fascinating.
Without going into spoilers, there's a unique magic system that involves both conceptual planning for your growth and active activity to sustain the energy required to improve to higher levels. You need to both deside the long-term goals for your magic in general and ensure that you have the energy required to master said parts to achieve that goal...
The characters are introduced in a procedural way that's not hard to follow, the world itself has a logic that it follows internally and consistently, and even when things are really rough you never feel like the whole world hates you in particular for existing. Some stories just make you feel like life is meaningless, this particular one feels fairly light-hearted.
I wish it was longer, and I can't wait to read more! - varkolakRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall fairly unique power system of collecting and combining runes to teir up. Well written with minimal errors. The synopsis doesn't really do the story justice so I would recommend giving it a shot. I can't really pick out anything that has wowed or bored me but it definitely held my interest throughout.
