Description
At thirty years old, Phil is an unemployed gamer who struggles to make ends meet. His only source of income is freelance writing (when he feels inspired enough to add another article to his less-than-popular blog). His wife has just walked out on him, leaving him without money, purpose, or food in the fridge.
On the day his wife dumps him, Phil receives a mysterious piece of wetware. A game interface seems to have been implanted in his brain which allows him to see the world through the eyes of an RPG player.
Now that Phil discovers his real-life stats, he can see theyβre far below average. With 4 pt. Agility, 6 pt. Strength and 3 pt. Stamina, his most advanced life skill is predictably gaming.
Luckily, real-life stats can be leveled up just like virtual ones. But will it help Phil get his wife back? Can he stop being such a couch potato? Would the new game help him become fitter? Or more successful? Can his gaming skills finally come in handy in real life?
Last but not least, can he find out who could have uploaded the mysterious game to his brain? And how is he supposed to deal with this unknown but apparently omnipotent force?

- bloo233Royal Roadβ β β β β 5.0Normally I like to read about actiony xianxia and fantasy stories but today I was bored and gave this a click.
Wow it's actually freaking interesting as hell. The story is only 10 chapters in so it might lose steam but so far, it hooked me. I love the idea of a total loser underdog irl getting his life under control. The characters feel real, the wife Yanna for example she's not just a bitch. Anyone would get frustrated as hell living with a guy who does nothing all day, it was interesting watching how just being near him sucked her life away. I feel like that really captured the feel of a marriage that lost its love.
But because it's such a messed up marriage I REALLY want them to work. For him to step and take some burden from his wife, for her to stop complaining and once again put effort into the relationship. It just felt so real.
The grammar is good and readable, and the author doesn't kill us in insane numbers like a lot of 'gamer' stories do. Doesn't have a skill for everything (once read a story with a dude leveling his breathing skill lol), thank god.
I defo say give this a read, especially if you're like me and typically don't read these slice of life stories. - ChronoGanditRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0Great read, couldn't "put it down".
Will recommend to others, have favorited.
But! I HAVE WORK IN THE MORNING!! I can't just stay up reading this late!! Shame on you (author) for making me blame this book for my own problems! π And thanks for the read, I really liked it. - Gamer1996Royal Roadβ β β β β 5.0I real all 3 books. Enough said.
Took me 5days. Enough said.
The full book is on amazon kindle unfortunately and if you don't have unlimited you will have to pay.
Truly a good read. Can't wait for book 4.
Anyone giving this a bad review clearly doesn't like thing genre(3 stars would be Considered bad in the case of this books quility and effort) - BullerRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0This here is some good stuff. Standard trope of weak guy getting access to a system in the real world, and being forced to do his best to keep it. Sure, there might be some parts where I had to question its ways, but this is overall a great read. Shame it's not on this website anymore.
- StagnantCRoyal Roadβ β β β β 4.5I'm really enjoying this so far. I hope the author continues with it.
- PandaliciousRoyal Roadβ β β β 3.5Like the level system, but I find that there isnβt eniguh action. It might just be me though.
- TranquilmothRoyal Roadβ β β 2.5Not anything particularly special. The leveling system has been done before and better in a few cases. Storyline isnt all that compelling or thrilling, just didn't keep my interest in what was going on. Pretty good writing but not a fan of the story or the characters.
