-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Requiem for honour is a series of action and adventure tales that have no connection at all and span thousands of worlds. All were witnessed by the god of honour before its death and focus upon one thing, the most noble quest a warrior can partake. The pursuit of honour.

From Science Fiction to Fantasy, from pits of swirling mud to battles streaking across the heavens, this collection plans to have it all.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve seen the battles of a thousand worlds. Starlight dance over a twilight moon, blood spilt upon a hundred sands. I’ve felt, dreamed, loved, wondered, aspired, and wept to the tears of the stars. I’ve seen blades clash and fleets crumble, people rise and fall like leaves in a summers wind. Will all of that be for nothing? Will all of that be forgotten? Let me recall one last time, remember one more soul before I die.

The end of time draws near, as it withers, and slows to begin, the god of honour waits it’s coming death. The stars watch one last time before the fade, as one last story has begun. A tale of the swirling sun.

Story 5/5: Requiem for Honour is a collection of action, adventure short stories that are unrelated outside of relation to honor. It has elements that I am a sucker for, military, fantasy, sci-fi, and gods. I was completely drawn in by the concept.
Style 4.5/5: the style of the stories flowed well, I never felt lost in the descriptions, and everything was easy to understand. I will say that the characters tended to mutter or mumble so much that it became more and more noticeable as I read. But that complaint aside, I felt the author did a great job painting scenes and making things easy to read.
Grammar 4.5/5: nothing that overly broke the story. I would suggest looking over dialogue quotation grammar a bit closer during the edits.
Characters 5/5: Characters are fun and easy to get to know. During my short time with them, I felt that they acted realistically and according to their nature.
Overall 5/5: just a fun, action-filled romp that leaves you wondering what the next adventure will be. Again, all the elements I am interested in were there for me, and the author nailed it. So, if military fantasy or sci-fi is your thing, I suggest giving it a read.

Requiem for Honour is a sci-fi/fantasy short story anthology themes around honour, which is a pretty hard sell on RR. Fortunately, the first (and currently only) tale, Dropping Dead, has enough promise for me to make sure I keep my eye open for future updates.
Dropping Dead is well-paced, which is absolutely essential for a short, and strikes a pretty good balance between world-buidling and concision. I loved the gritty 80s sci-fi vibe and atmosphere, complete with hardbitten lead and 'there are monsters, but they're a damn-sight less evil than the people in charge' trope.
The Characters are as well-built as can be expected in such a short time, but one criticism I would have is tha tthe dialogue was often robotic and clunky. I would absolutely recommend that hte author read the story out loud on the next editing pass - you'd be surprised with how much that will help iron out weird-feeling dialogue.
No real grammar flaws, and the prose does a good job of keeping the story moving at a good clip, without succumbing too much to white room syndrome.
Overall, this is a promising start to something that isn't often seen on Royal Road, and definitely deserves to find its audience here. Looking forward to seeing more!
