Reincarnated Renegade [ Relaunch ]

Description
Villain or Player?
Bellavarn was nobody special—just an ordinary man with an ordinary end. Now he’s the son of a duke in a world that doesn’t carewho he is.
No cheat skills. No divine blessings. Just a fractured memory and a desire to learn.
Now he must piece together who he was and choose who he’s willing to become.
This is not a story about chosen heroes. It’s about surviving long enough to figure out if you’re the villain, an NPC... something else entirely.
A slow-burn LitRPG Portal Fantasy with cozy worldbuilding, clever characters, and the quiet magic of choosing your own path.

- rusticsoldierRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0honestly I didn't like it. However the author is just getting started. Seems to have a plan. I was just turned off. That simple. I am sure 99 percent of people will like what been provided so far. The background brief but colorful. Not really info dumpy. Author quickly sketched out a frame. Has the story going in some sort of direction. Not sure were. The start of the story had the mc as intelligent and interesting. Then an innocent relationship starts.. this is were I start to dislike it.
The build up of the relationship was quick and all, but innocent. Then the author gives a twist. Its a good twist. Not my cup of tea. But still almost never used. And interesting. What ruined it, was the mc for me, his actions made me guffaw. But also made the hair on my arms stand up imagining it.. - Loud SilenceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The characters are well fleshed out, the world building is great and the humor, oh the humor. And there's always a good plot twist there somewhere, but you'll never see it coming. Anyway, I can't say more without taking away from it, I thought it was off to a rough start like some typical cliche noble wakes up in a fantasy world yada yada yada, but it took those elements, and threw them out the window. I like what the author's done with the First Princess with the otome game mechanics, and the characters, like I said, are well fleshed out, they have a depth to them that makes you love them, hate them, laugh at them hehe...I hope the author keeps writing.
- PericularRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I basically never write reviews for stuff online but I love this story so much I just had to.
Overall I'd rate this a 5/5 story with the biggest faults lying in some of the style choices that the author has made.
Style:
I really enjoy the style of this author/book but I could see some having problems with it. So in turn it's probably the weakest part of this novel. (at a solid 4/5 so I'm being quite picky here)
What I'm saying is that when our POV character doesn't understand what's going on (ie. delirious/confused) the author portrays it well in the sense that you as a reader also 'feel' the confusion.
This may sound worse in this review than it actually is but I could see it being a turnoff for some potential readers.
Personally I enjoy this style of content as it feels quite 'real' and it never goes on for too long.
This happnened maybe 4 times in the ~45 chapters that I've read and that is alright with me.
Another point of contention is the 'multiple lead characters' which starts to be more relevant sometime into the early arc of this book.
POV switches happen every so often and our main characters are often times not near each other so they have their own seperate struggles.
All of this being said I do like how the actions of one impact the other. It really does make it feel like we are reading about in interconnected world and not just 2 seperate stories.
Like I said earlier I'd rate this category 4/5 for being likeable to me and many others I'd assume but some people will probably dislike this style.
Story:
I love how the story plays out. (it really got to the point of questioning myself in how far the author has set up some of the plot points)
Major spoilers would ensue if I continued describing what I love about this novel the most so I'll just leave it to the readers to discover!
5/5
Grammar:
I haven't found any grammar mistake yet so that's a 5/5 as far as I'm concerned.
Characters:
The characters presented in this novel are mostly quite unique and have q - WonderingPasserbyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Real quick I have put it out there I have never written a review before but this story made me want to write for it so apologize in advance to anyone reading this wreck of a review.
First, I guess I have to start with the style. The first few chapters were a bit iffy for me I cannot put my finger to it but as the story process man, it flows like *insert something that flow smoothly* Tho there
would be character pov change with the introduction of the princess. The flow of the story is never halted or grind to a stop just for another driver to take the wheel.
TLDR the style stick to you after reading more and more chapters. It can get a bit dark but the author manages to balance out the story with light and heavy scenes sometimes intermixing it.
The Story.... oh boi the story. Never thought I can feel so much different emotion in a short period of time. Not going to lie the first few chapters almost made me stop reading as I thought of how illogical it seems. But I stick through just to see how would it go and boi he/she/it/apache helicopter did not disappoint. It not groundbreaking and I think that why it interests me so much how the author manages to take a used trope and twist it just enough to keep you guessing about how it would go but not too much to be confused about. Most importantly to me, it feels human in a sense. Even addressing the problems I have with the first few chapters exploring the reasons and the characters.
Tldr things are getting spicer
Grammar Score I have only spotted one then again I am the least qualified. Grammarly is like my caffeine life-saving.
The characters the main driving force of the story something that to me separates something from good to great. Each of them feels so alive... they interact and feel so like you could get up to them and have a real conversation like a human being. They have feelings and thoughts. Bellavarn unsurprising is got to shine the most showing how his environment affects his emotional state which then aff - ChukahRoyal Road★★★★ 4.04 stars.
Pros -
well written interactions between deeper than average characters
a pleasant to frustrating yet mild tragedy that makes you keep reading in hopes the author will have mercy and provide a sense of justice. The mild nature of the tragedy gives the reader hope the author will change his mind and give us the resolution we want. An excellent tease.
A well crafted intertwined plot that plays with the readers expectations
cons
I feel the use of flashbacks/3rd party people discussing the outcome/ dramatic changes in setting make the of the falling actions/climaxes detract from the immersion and leaves me frustrated and impatient. Its like regular cliff hangers but often a softened punchline it becomes slowly dragged out to resolution reducing the impact. I feel the switch in perspectives makes the thrilling peaks fall suddenly as the reader is forced out of the action. I’d recommend the author to work on incorporating more variations of how climaxes end. Overall the shifting perspectives is good through the story but I’d use them less often at the end of climaxes.
a fate plot point that is obscure at first and I feel if it was more on the nose earlier in the story than readers would be less likely to drop the story due to misunderstandings of a plot device vs them being unable to agree with characters actions and decisions. This prevents what I want in the story to happen. Sadly it wouldn’t be the same story without this conflict.
at times it feels cloudy and jumpy unnecessarily to the point of making it difficult to understand what is occurring. This is used at times effectively to play on readers expectations other times when used poorly leaves the content confusing of what just happened. - EzaiahsRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Damn, to find a good novel but for it to be so new. Ahh, damn.
The good:
Something that 99.99% of novels on this site lack: Emotion.
Written decently enough and the story is interesting enough, plots and ploys and the like.
Easy to read
The bad:
As of now it seems like there has been little real reason for the story to be a reincornation type story as it doesnt really do much with it. If yout took the two MC's and made one just depressed due to malformed thoughts(Male lead) and the other becoming schizo due to the constant abuse(Female Lead) the story would feel a lot better and more natural. - BerengariusRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I first stopped reading after a couple chapters, later I picked it up again still felt like I wanted to drop it. The first 10 chapters were the worst out the entire story. But I'm glad I pushed through, the story turned out to be very good. If you can push through the beginning, I felt that it paid off. Though, I prefer book 1 (4.5/5) compared to book 2(3.5/5).
The story is pretty well developed with a nice pace. With some unexpected twist and mysteries surrounding the world I didn't expect proved to keep me engaged. There is some uniqueness and rules in the described world that made it unique to this world type. It's a reincarnation story but with it's own little twist. I liked how it was portrayed between the main characters and how they treat it. Both handle it differently but realistic.
The characters make the best out of the story. Their interactions, dialogue, and relationships were well written feeling realistic. Every character has something to their personality, nothing feels repetitive. Through their dialogue, you can feel their struggle and happiness.
Bellavarn is a great character, with world against him he's never truly alone nor does he give up. Great growth shown through his POV. The other main POV felt that it was put a greater importance on a different aspect based on how they viewed the world. There weren't any bad drama or soap opera aspects but there are some parts that felt overdramtic. However, putting myself in their current situation and having that past felt it was correct.
Story lacked any grammar mistakes and the writing felt fluid. POV transitions were switched at the write time giving a nice prespective of other characters.
Some personal opinions and reasons why I don't like book 2 as much, spoilers book 1/2:
Ceila felt extremely passive even after the "be free" event. Then, with the preplanned Shallow event and never bother checking or examining herself that the rape happened. Book 2 is a much better improvement on her part and more in - RedgumRoyal Road★★★ 3.0While technically well written, with good grammar and sentence structure and an introduction to the story that seems promising with the old reincarnated into a teenager trope, the story takes a turn for the confusing.
Suddenly things are happening and everyone is reacting weirdly but there's been no character development to support any of these reactions.
The MC needs some character background before he goes doing cringy things and getting yelled at by everyone. Who is he? Dunno. Why is he worth reading about? Dunno. Why is he getting super obsessive compulsive about a random maid? Dunno.
This story gets confusing fast and there's not enough character development to support the randomness. Even just a brief monologue on who he was before reincarnating, like a single paragraph even. Dunno. - Impulsive MonkeyRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Alroght sooooo, I like this story's idea but not the execution of it I guess. It tries to combine ideas of suicide like from Zombie Knight Saga as well as a romance of a reincarnated noble like High-Class mob. I feel like if properly pulled off it could be amazing however it just falls short in execution. Reading of the first few chapters is just so confusing, trying to have a man who has committed suicide beforehand become way to attached to a women he's only known for a week and letting her betrayal fuck him up somehow. The Mc is first portrayed as extremely smart at first but then gets caught off guard by being betrayed, after killing himself because his gf cheated on him. I just don't feel someone with that baggage could fall for someone in a week. However, I do feel like it could somewhere good based off of newer chapters I'm just thoroughly annoyed by the first 6. I used the examples above because they seem like the closest things I can think of regarding the plot shown, and I felt both of them did their parts much better, if the author is reading this I hope you might be able to read those stories to understand where I'm coming from.
- PumapaintedstoneRoyal Road★★ 2.0The setting is basically the same as other web novels where the main character reincarnates as a noble. The main difference being that the author throws his attempts at being edgy out there every now and then or at least that's how they read. The characters have no personality nor consistency.
