Description
Power of friendship? Getting stronger when you’re enraged? Powerful monster sealed in you by your father?
Yeah, that was not me.
I was the arrogant youngster who got punched on the first panels of the shounen manga I was reading.
I wouldn’t have even remembered his name if I wasn’t stuck in his body.

- t2oRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The M.C's monologues are a slog SLOG! to get through. The problem is that 80% of the time he's thinking something useless (things we already expect him to say) or he is being used as a vessel for info dumping.
The worst part is... he thinks them in long, multi paragraph sentences, when the exact same thing could have been conveyed in 10-20 words MAX.
At least i have been seeing less of it recent chapters.
..
Ofcourse this annoys me because those words could have been to tell more of this story. I haven't come across a good parody in a long time...
Just to be clear i am not talking about writing more fight scenes or POVs (though the pov characters are one of the best parts of this story). I'm fine with anything as long as we aren't stuck in m.c's head as he spouts the obvious. Because everything else in this story is just 👨🍳😘 perfect.

Gj author, keep it up. - AmondRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Shounen manga as a side character isn't rare, but it's fairly uncommon. This does it well, including a fan of a fake manga in the story at the beginning.
There are some fairly standard tropes, but when you read something like this, that's exactly what you expect, and this story delivers them well. There are some obvious influences from a couple of animes, and there is a slight influence on the world where 'it works because it's shounen', but it isn't anything overt. Is your protagonist broken? Punch it to reboot.
It's got internal energy, magic, special abilities, monsters, and a time limit where an apocalyptic event may be on the horizon. If you like the premise; it's definitely worth a read. - JohnPacers75Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Interesting story and well written so far, giving five stars to support the author, waiting on more chapters. What im hoping is to not fall to the cliche of the ours character 'stealing' the role of the mc but carve his own place in the story but its all good so far
- LazyKabutoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Is it the first of it's kind? No.
Is it worth reading? Yes.
Despite it not being the first of its kind, this story has multiple aspects which make it stands out.
For one, the power mechanic of the characters, similar to that of JJK/ HxH where every individual's power is unique. This gives rise to interesting fights and not generic shounen battle.
Two, the MC is not as OP compared to the enemies he face. Despite having pre-existing knowledge of the future, it does not matter if you have the strengh to influence it. The author is able to flesh out that the MC is talented through his own means, only using his knowledge to supplement his decisions.
Lastly, the setting is a shounen but in a wuxia world. This aint your happy-go shounen, where nobody dies. Everyone is out to kill you if it means getting stronger. Personally, I feel that the setting could be more dark, as currently, only non-important characters are getting killed off. The main characters seem to have high plot armor, and is slowly starting to become a bore.
Tldr: A story worth reading, with a unique power setting and characters. Hopefully the story gets better onwards, fingers crossed for A Chimera Ant arc. - NicoodesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Reincarnated in a Shounen Manga, by CasualBear, is a delightful and engaging story that is a must-read for fans of the shounen genre. The book is a refreshing take on the isekai genre, with a casual twist of book for the same category (reincarnated in a story/game...).
The protagonist wakes up in the body of an arrogant youngster who gets punched in the first panels of the shounen manga he was reading. What follows is a hilarious and heartwarming journey of self-discovery, as the protagonist navigates the ups and downs of life in a shounen manga.
The story is amusing and engaging, with witty dialogue and a well-developed cast of characters. The protagonist is smart and cautious, and his struggles to fit into this new world are both relatable and endearing. The other characters in the story are equally well-developed, with good background and world-building that leaves no visible gaps (for now on).
One of the most impressive aspects of the book is its attention to detail. The author has clearly done their homework, and the story is full of references to the shounen genre. The fight scenes are well-executed, and the story never feels rushed or forced.
While the book is light-hearted and fun, it also has moments of darkness and introspection. The protagonist's journey is not just about learning to fit into this new world, but also about discovering who he really is and what he wants out of life.
The negative point mentioned in another review about the protagonist's relationship with the original protagonist of the manga is intriguing and adds an element of mystery to the story. This, combined with the possibility of the protagonist's darkening, creates a sense of anticipation for what is to come.
Overall, Reincarnated in a Shounen Manga is an excellent read that will leave you wanting more. CasualBear has done a fantastic job of creating a world that is both familiar and fresh, and I can't wait to see where the story goes from here. I highly recommend this book to fans - Rain_lawRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I spent a solid half an hour looking for what manga this was based on before I realized it didn't exist and then it clicked, You masterfully took the principles that drive people to make isekai fanfiction and removed the fan fiction aspect.
You took aspects present in Shounen Classics like Shaman King, Bleached and Naruto, it was all the little tropes and story hooks that griped an entire generation and was formulaic execution. I do not mean that as an insult, no, here you executed it like it was a "Big 3" era Shounen manga down to a T.
Well done, this made me break my silence and give my first review. - RunningAwayRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0In a nutshell, the story is inspired by some of the more popular popular shounen manga, with a small touch of xianxia and isekai-with-future-knowledge as well. If you're familiar with these stories, then you can probably appreciate the author's execution of the world-building and plot.
The setting, characters and plot have all the typical shounen tropes, and our MC knows this. But MC doesn't know how the story ends, so his fight for survival depends on how he uses tropes to his advantage, since he's just a background character and not OP (yet). And so far he's been doing pretty good.
The best example is how MC deals with the first hurdle: main villain attacks training camp, killing a bunch of background characters while leaving only the protagonists as survivors. MC knows that he can't fight or win against the villain, but he does know the villain is a typical shounen antagonist who will let interesting characters live. So MC creates an ability to entertain the villain instead of beating him (although he does end up fighting pretty well in the end).
Balance-wise, it counters the villain's power, but MC is still not OP because it doesn't really make him "stronger" at all, and any of the main protags can still outgun him.
Pacing is good, giving time to explore some of the other characters and background, while still making progress in the plot. There are some spelling and grammar errors, but it's still readable and doesn't affect my enjoyment.
The release schedule is the cherry on the top. Currently it's daily releases which keep me hooked, and the chapters have substance too, not just fluff and filler. Overall, I'm excited to see where the story goes. - kearngreansRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I had read this since the begining but never get to express my love for the author. This is a master peice .The MC is not a knight in a shinning armor but not a murder hobbo either. Also the side character is verry interesting too.The story is not too slow or fast and is enjoyable.( I'm not an Enlish speaker )
- probablythepresidentRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This fiction is so good for what it is--a shounen isekai. I had a very hard time putting it down and ended up binging all available chapters in about a day and a half. The premise is simple: a man transmigrates into a manga he's read as a minor villain side character. It pretty swiftly goes off the rails after that.
Stylistically, I found this fiction very satisfying to read. The author writes very cleanly and directly in a way that translates equally well to descriptions and action. And, speaking of action, the action scenes are plentiful and feel really impactful and punchy thanks to the author's style. Some parts, especially earlier on, can be a bit info-dumpy... but I find it hard to hold it against the author because anime can be info-dumpy too, and it makes sense in the context of the story. The author is very good about showing instead of telling, and uses settings and an observant MC, as well as some outside perspectives, to provide some really intriguing insights into the new world the MC lives in and the unexpected ways it lives up to its shounen origins.
The story is the real meat of this fiction. The author's great style enhances the already substantial development of the plot and the characters. Again, however, I'm blown away at how the author translated the development and action beats you might see in a shounen manga into a completely original text with riveting twists that kept me completely engaged throughout the entire story. (And I have terrible ADHD, so that's not easy!) I appreciate the varied scopes of the various plots and subplots, as some are as trivial as a small village and some are as impactful as the fate of the world, but all feel interesting, impactful to the main character, and have unexpected twists and turns that kept me clicking next chapter long into the night.
Grammatically, I noticed some minor errors, but nothing notable or anything that impacted my ability to understand or enjoy the text.
Besides the story, I found myself surp - sn0_0kerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story has a lot of potential, it really accomplishes what it tries to do, that is the absurdity of an shounen manga setting so let me get a little more in depth.
Style - 5
The prose is good and flows really well.
Story - 4.5
The plot is still in the early phases as of my review so there isn't much to say about it yet but everything that happened so far was good.
Grammar - 5
No spelling mistakes come to mind after so it's pretty solid on that.
Character - 5
The characters read like shounen manga characters with the exception of our MC who has self-awareness, so it accomplishes what it sets out to do.
Overall - 5
It's a good story, as of right now what it lacks is chapters and more fish but that should be fixed with time.
