I really love this story. It's incredibly good, a unique blend of different genres. The main character is well balanced and feels realistic. He can be brave, cunning, sarcastic and sometimes stupid. His reactions are not one note, just like a real person. The writing style is nice and the grammar is good, not too many mistakes.
The critique I'd give is that the world building could be improved and to describe the environment a bit more. I'd also describe his emotions a bit more, for the main character's situation he seems a bit too calm.
    I'd definitely recommend this story.

With relatable characters and ineteresting storyline this book is well worth reading. From the first chapter the reader is taken on a journey not only to a new world but one that has been almost abandoned for decades. The people that do inhabit this place are living a susistance life just managing to survive from day to day.
What happens next is told in an easy to read style that will keep you engaged to see how Artur manages not only to survive but thrive.
I highly recommend this book from a relatively new author and look forward to what comes next.

Isekai and litRPG concepts haven't been a rare sight at any point in RR's history, but none of them did it quite like this - most stories eventually let go of the economics and politics heavy storylines to build up the tension with a single main plot and lots of action; here, the economy and the politics continue to inform every part of the story all the way to the end. No character introduced feels like nothing but an extra, even when that is their role, and every part of the story feels like it matters.
A perfect 5 out of 5 in its class.

I am very fond of earning one's happy ending as a story technique. In this case where the protagonist is (involuntarily) working for the acquisitive goddess of merchants (she's also a dragon!), everything is money, and money is everything.
Want upgrades? Buy them. Want help? Better pay your employees. Want to level up? Better make those sales!
For all of the mechanics, there isn't much fluff so far. Storytelling is tight, there's some conflict every chapter, and — as expected — no one does anything for free.
Recommended if you're not even supposed to be there today!, or you like hard working guile heroes. Avoid for those who want overpowered protagonists or you don't like the numbers going up.

I enjoyed the first book, which I stopped at, because I am a binge reader and will wait for the book to be complete before I catch back up, I hate when books dry up before story arcs are done. I just wish the system of the store were presented more clearly to the MC; everything seems like a surprise when something upgrades. And for God's sakes get that man a bag and more clothes. His assistant manager should have been a cat not a dragon. Not from a preference for cats just that his assistant is more aloof and lazier than my cats. And I am not buying that "Oh yeah I am handling all this for you" waves of screens pop up in front of the MC eyes then drop cause the MC waves them away because it is too much to take in at once. Then the dragon pulls out a tablet to handle things. Love Augustus, and wish I had one. Pony boy meh, developed late in the first book. DR. Rat is awesome, just wonder how long he has lived for. But flaws make everything better. If you do not agree, remember Cindy Crawford? Only a few grammar or spelling errors, but those are the things are what draw my eyes, so they stand out more to me than they do. The world building is there, but slow, it has a framework and is slowly being fleshed out. I am sure if this was sent to an editor before publishing on kindle or the like it might need a small rewrite, like when did Nyssa stop living with her father, or at one point the MC locks the basement happy the sewer key works on it, then later complains the Gods did not put a lock on the basement. Over all a great book, and I will read more when it gets to book three so I can read all of book 2 at once (and probably re-read book one again, did that for ever Wheel of Time release, so Eye Of The World is imprinted in my brain, god that show sucked).
Follow-up Post Book Two (08/19/2023): Spoiler warning, if you are interested in the book, read first. You have been warned.
As promised, I wait till book 2 was done and finished it in about 24 hours (I mentioned some

The author of this series shared it in the subreddit r/litrpg and I must say I didn't know how a series like this would go but I thought it would be an interesting spin on the isekai genre. To keep a badly written sentence short so was this great and I can't wait until the next chapter.

I just caught up to this one, including Patreon chapters (up to 31 as of writing), and my overall verdict is: will probably get interesting, has curious worldbuilding, but give it time to stockpile. I'll be doing so, will probably get back to it in a few months (if I don't forget) and might update this review then.
    Short version:
    What I like:
    - shop management - those are not something I come across often
    - MC is your regular dude, his powers, while somewhat OP for a store owner/manager, do not help at all (he nearly gets killed by a giant rat early on)
    - somewhat unique worldbuilding (postapo urban fantasy, that seems like a fresh mix, although I typically don't read much urban fantasy)
    What I don't like:
    - early chapters (broke my expectations going in)
    - pacing (too fast for shop management story)

    Long version:
Shop management - there has been little of it so far, but I do enjoy this type of story, and it *is* heading in that direction. That's rare in itself, and I do like those stories which build up a place. Managing a store while restoring a post-apocalypse city? Sign me up.
MC being a, comparatively, regular guy makes the story that much more fun and relatable. Sure his power *is* OP when you think of it from a store perspective. They don't work outside of that context. No mind reading, no combat power, nothing. And the challenges he faces so far are not competing businesses.
Worldbuilding? Pretty curious, although we haven't seen much. Seems like an urban fantasy world going postapo. We have mad scientists creating human-rat hybrids, we have people with superpowers, mutants crawling out of a mysterious pit in the middle of the city. I'd really love to see where it is going.
Broken expectations in early chapters. Going in, I didn't look over the chapter list, nor other reviews. Just the blurb and statistics. And boy, was I in for a rude awakening. As of now, there

This story has some solid potential and I am enjoying it so far. I do enjoy how the characters come off as a bit crazy. The dialog is well written for the most part and the characters make youn want to know more about. The story I would say comes off as fun to read. MC is sensible and comes off as a normal guy. The variety of non high fantasy stuff is nice. It's not every day you have to worry about brains in a jar.
My only 2 criticisms would be
    1. Pacing, for a shop management story the pacing feels too fast and sometimes feels like there is more action than shop management. But and I feel this is important the MC dose not come off as a OP action hero, he appropriately an normal guy who is trying to do his thing. I just would like to see the story match the MC better.
    2. World building - here sometimes people are surprised by the quest windows or the MCs abilities but then a character will take it in stride that something is a common item. It sometimes feels difficult to tell how the world operates. As well the world building feels a k8nd of shallow.

    It was a good read.
The MC isn't OP or won't get OP and is much more grounded.
This is the story of a shopkeeper's rise to becoming a "Dragon" CEO who aims to grow and keep his coins.
There is no world saving events, just journey of growing wealth.

It's got an interesting start with some strong retail and fallout vibes. The world building is a bit shallow and game like at the moment and the first two encounters (i wish I had a better word) with "people" more than a bit mad.
Overall however I think this will be an interesting story once it gets it's feet under it.
