Reincarnated As A Beach Bum

Description
A necromancer, a divine talking sword, and a coward all end up on an island…
After being transported to a new world with nothing but a backpack with a water soaked laptop in it, his worn notebooks, and the clothes on his back, he's forced to learn how to survive in his new home by the shore. From an encounter with a deadly cryptid to discovering secrets the island holds within, Latori will have to weather the storms and ocean waves to one day get off the island. Besides, he has a promise he has to keep. Thankfully, he has a talking sword. From humble beginnings as a beach bum to eventually a hero(?), Latori will do his best to survive as we laugh at his endearing suffering.
A slow-burn, action-comedy isekai with drama and emotional moments built up later on. Fair warning, there are parts that involve horror later on.
This is the first story that I felt okay with publishing! I hope you enjoy it. I'll update it when I can (once or twice a week) and try to make each chapter a satisfying length. It'll mostly start off like episodic humor with some growth of the character weaved within, but it'll gradually evolve into the adventure story that I have planned.

- LleayaaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5So this story is definitely interesting, I was drawn in by the first chapter(maybe even the first paragraph) and its unique and refreshing atmosphere.
Style
The authors style is certainly unique, they give nice descriptions of the mcs actions as well as the overall story so its quite descriptive(which is always a plus). The only issue i’ve found is that the paragraphs aren’t formatted correctly and could be made smaller, it slightly broke my immersion. Honestly the fix for the formatting could be made quite easily and fast.
Story
The story is well paced for only having 4 chapters so far. It doesn’t look like there’s been any rushing nor slow boring scenes. The premise itself is the normal isekai story… But, like I stated above, it has a unique sense to it making it stand out from the overflowing amount of isekai novels.
Grammar
The grammar is the main issue. There are a bunch of missing commas and other grammatical errors along with a plethora of run-on sentences. Also I found some word choices seemed rather weird, like they didn’t make a lot of sense with what was going on. I think that if the author ran their chapters through grammarly the grammatical errors would disappear. Overall its not too bad but it needs some work.
Character
This is the highlight of the story. The mc feels nice and realistic as well as relatable in a sense. At first it feels he has an asshole vibe(which I like), but calms down quickly. His character is designed very well and the narration for him is pretty solid as well.
Overall
Overall its a really good start. If the author goes back into the chapters and fixes the grammar issues as well as the formatting issues I can see this book doing extremely well. - gerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Do you ever wish you were on the beach? Toes in the sand, warm sun on your skin, gentle rhythm of waves washing up and down...
And, do you also sometimes wish you could go on an adventure? Finding loot, weapons, treasure, training to overcome foes and challenges...
Well, if you happened to answer yes to these questions, then this is definitely the story for you. "Reincarnated as a Beach Bum" isn't just here to make you feel like you're in a whole new world, it also provides the feeling of being on a beach-island paradise, complete with fresh seafood and bare feet in the sand.
Annie Ominous' writing style is light and quick, filled with humoristic moments and witty dialogue. I wouldn't be surprised that you'll be pulled right along by the pace of the writing, which rarely stutters or slows.
Any mistakes of grammar issues are minor and should cause no problem to your understanding and reading experience. Annie is clearly attentive and mindful, providing good-quality writing.
The story hints at many possible eventual avenues. For the moment, we have the chance to explore the surroundings and the new setting with our MC. There are regular encounters and events, making the story move along at a good pace. I wouldn't be surprised that this simple beginning will later open up to a rich and wide world of intriguing places and characters.
Our MC is honest and simple, taking things as they come. The fact that some adaptation was needed to get used to this change in their life made them seem real and genuine. I do not doubt that they will continue to grow and develop to overcome challenges along the way as they discover more about the island and world.
All in all, if you're interested in a beach-romp adventure, I strongly recommend Reincarnated as a Beach Bum.
Don't forget to bring your shovel, a towel, a parasol, some water, and of course just in case things get hairy, your
good 'ol trusty magical sword buddy!
