- SquidzillaRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This is the story of a man who takes the best opportunities at hand, when he thinks he can get away with it.
Join Our Villain as he lies, cheats, steals his way to glory.
After all, fighting fair is for suckers.
To the boring nuts and bolts:
Grammar - unblemished
Story structure - perfectly acceptable
Violence - Ultra
Look, it is what it says it is. MC is not a hero, he's not a good person. He's going to do what he needs to, what he can, to survive the bullshit he's in.
Knocked off a star for awkward 4th wall breaks, not a deal breaker.
Let us be honest, review reader, a lot of what you'll sift through in pursuit of escapism here is nigh unintelligible. This is not that.
I'm in it. - anraeyRoyal Road★★★ 3.0It is an interesting enough story, better than most of the stuff one finds here.
The constant changes in character perspectives can be somewhat confusing though. Another thing that also bothers me is a seemingly lack of depth? I don't know exactly how to explain it but behind every character there is a background that we as readers are unfamiliar with, so you know that they have more than what you are seeing, but we don't know what. I think that longer chapters with more time with each charater would be very beneficial for this story. Afterall there are characters being introduced left and right, but we don't spend enough time with them to get to know them.
