Description

[I was reincarnated in a fantasy world as the manifestation of absolute void — the Black Knight, and my goal is to return the destitute, sickly, youngest-born princess, who is kind of a loser, to her throne because it beats doing nothing]

War rages across the continent as a foreign power sets foot on the soil of the nation beneath the glow of strange starlight. Emptiness fills the eyes of people everywhere as their faces become as hard as the loveless hearts hidden beneath them. Those who are not involved in the war-effort can only do their best to survive on the fringes for the time being.

One of these people is the exiled, youngest princess of the nation, the ill Acacia Odofredus Krone, who lives forgotten in destitute squalor as an abject failure, being not even capable enough to become a low-ranking adventurer. An equally lost soul, reborn from another world, suddenly finds himself reincarnated at her side as the powerful manifestation of a creature of old prophecy;der Schwarze Ritter— the Black Knight.

Together, faced with the pressures of the horrific conflict, dire poverty, Acacia’s fatal sickness, and the looming threat of her noble bloodline that hasn't been forgotten by the world hanging heavy over them, the two of them are forced onto a journey to find a way to live together, fighting their way out from the lowest shadows of forgottenhood in order to reach the pinnacle of either of their dreams — a life that feels like anything more than total emptiness.

This caught my attention from chapter one and I am continuing to enjoy the ride. I am sure there is a lot more to be revealed and all will not to easy for the Black Knight and his Queen. Enemies is the shadows and Foes from the Deep stand by to snuff out the Void of the Knight.

Razz wrote it, 5 stars. He makes good stuff, alright? Now onto the review.
Four and three had their time, now it's time for zero. basic premise, man is boring enough to annoy the literal nothingness and gets isekai'd, and now aims to bring the equally boring ex-princess to become queen. I didn't think he would get truck'd but apprently not even Razz can resist the allure of truck-kun. So far I'm intrigued but it's only one chapter, though it is a long one. Can't say if that's setting a precedent for long chapters or not but I can hope, it lets more mistakes slip through (Not that that's a bad thing, I like making corrections.) Overall, I want to read more and that's good enough for me at this point.

razzmataz wants you to rate the story, so follow razzmataz and rate the story, just like a good reader would, this story is very fun to read though, it's nice seeing someone that isn't a OP guy in nike trousers and a adidas hoodie being immune to practically everything, yes, the MC is a Dark Knight so naturally he would be able to utilize powerful abilities, and powerful body memory, but that is all apart of being a Dark Knight, which is a powerful enemy in practically every game / book you may encounter them in.

While the title and description makes it seem like some basic isekai trash, this story is actually really well written. The tag is a comedy, but it's actually a slightly sad yet uplifting story about depression and self improvement. It's a very nice feel-good story, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Reborn as the Black Knight is the story of a depressed guy who wants to improve his life, but--through a series of unusual events--gets killed and reincarnated as a sick girl's knight protector instead.
Style: This story's style is good and readable, with a flair for description and solid narration that does a great job holding the reader's interest.
On occasion I found a descriptive passage or two used vocabulary and/or sentence structure that hurt its flow, causing me to reread some sentences twice, but overall I was quite immersed in the story and can easily forgive this.
Plot: This story smashes the "isekai" button hard. Most isekais are about leaving your humdrum life behind for something better, but this one is obliquely themed around self-improvement and pushing what little bit you can in the hopes of a better tomorrow. It is about finding a new perspective as much as it is about finding a new world.
In this way it fires on multiple cylinders of wish-fulfillment. This will be like crack to anyone who's ever been bummed out or alienated in their life.
If I had one note it'd be that Acacia's early trials are almost TOO intense. The author pretty much (figuratively) spits in her face, tosses her down a flight of stairs and punts her dog out a window in the name of endearing the reader to her and making us want her to be rescued. It all felt a little much to me; maybe one small win in her sea of early losses might've cut that feeling a bit?
Grammar: Not perfect, but quite good for RR, and consistent enough throughout these opening chapters to avoid muddling the story's good qualities.
Character: The MCs are basically two flavors of jaded. Both hurt by the world, both wary of people taking advantage of them or treating them like trash.
It's a natural bridge between them, and makes it fun to see them win. Up to where I read, Acacia is more fun, multifaceted and demonstrative. I find Sir Knight comparatively aloof and laid back. I feel like their thought connection

As I've already said in the title, this story is certainly very unique. I love how the author uses well known isekai tropes and combines them with nihilism (dm me, if that's not the correct term).
    Story:
In the story are lots of well known isekai tropes, like gaining OP powers and a princess in need of saving. But I didn't get the feeling of reading a generic story at all. The addition of the nihilistic and depressive mindsets of the MC's, makes this story very unique. I mean, the literal motivation of the MC
for saving the princess is "I have nothing better to do
All of this give these tropes a very new twist and lets me experience them anew again.
    Style:
Nice style, even a little bit poetic. I normaly don't really like that in stories, but I think the author knows how and when to use them to make a nice effect. Overall, the style is very fitting for the overal feeling of the story, which is rather gloomy.
And now a very subjective negative point: What always bothers me as a native german speaker is, when german words are used for fantasy concepts in english (or japanese) stories. It's just weird for me haha. But that definitely won't hold me back from reading more of this story.
    Grammar:
    Nice.
    Characters:
Excellent. The characters are very interesting, and even unique in a isekai setting, which let's them stand out a lot. But even though I'd say the characters are kind of depressed and nihilistic, I love how they never give up. So even though it's tough reading about their lives and mindsets, it also sends a very positive message, because they won't let it define them.

Reborn as the Black Knight is another great fiction by Razzmatazz. A unique twist on an Isekei genre, the Black Knight is a man who amounted to nothing on earth who is reborn into a fantasy world and tied to the forgotten princess Acacia Odofredus Krone, another person who has amounted to nothing. Together, they might just be enough to thrive in this world of extreme politics, war, dungeon diving, and magic.
Highly recommend the book for anyone who loves anime, isekai, or just watching the zero's of life finally get the break they've always needed. Forewarning, the chapters in Reborn as the Black Knight are exceptionally long, but don’t give up! They read well and are essential to understand where the author is trying to lead you. A recommendation for you readers, please check any detail oriented thinking at the door as the author is more a conceptual level writer and does a masterful job in working emotional intelligence into the characters depicted throughout the story. And yes, for those who love over powered characters, the Black Knight is as OP as they get.
A word of warning, some of the fight scenes do get very descriptive in nature.

This is another great work from the author. If you have read any of their work in the past, then you pretty much know what to expect. There is a system, but it is done very well, as it was in their past stories, and is never the focal point. It is early in the story's tenure on this site, but I can say with confidence that it will most likely end up just as good as the authors other works, so stop reading this review and read the novel!

To preface this review, I think this is probably the best story I've read on this site so far, with the character work especially standing out.
First off we have the story. A simple, straightforward isekai where a nobody from the real world finds himself reborn as a semi-mythic being in a fantasy realm, assisting a similarly irrelevant, badly ill princess on a quest to place her on the throne. At surface level it's nothing particularly unique, but the world is nicely fleshed out and we get to explore it through the eyes of our protagonists, with a good amount of show rather than tell storytelling. The focus on existentialism is also an interesting touch that gives it some added depth.
The characters are where this story really shines, with both the Isekai'd Black Knight and Princess Acacia, our two primary POV protagonists, each getting plenty of opportunity to develop and exemplify their unique characteristics. They might be united by being nobodies, but both possess their unique sense of humor, obligation, and worldview. The back and forth between the two, especially in the little slice of life portions, acts as a pleasant contrast with some of the darker or more depressing moments.
Grammar was good. There is really nothing much else to add there.
The style is fairly simple and straightforward, with clear cuts when the story shifts the POV. The author has a clear vision of how they want the story conveyed and they pursue it with efficiency.
All in all, this story is an excellent example of a well-executed Isekai, and I would happily recommend it to any fans of the genre or fantasy in general!

Okay, this one wowed me. In my opinion, the writing is excellent, and it is something that really captured me right away. The things that kept me reading, however, are the characters and the strong emotion in the text. The author takes situations that may seem pretty normal (going to the grocery store or flunking out of school) and really punctures everything with deep-feeling wounds where you’re instantly rooting for the character who is an undeniable underdog. Mix that with segments of a LitRPG world and YES. You have me hooked.
There weren’t any glaring grammatical errors. Honestly, the writing is a serious strongpoint in this story. Additionally, the chapters are intensely meaty (especially the first which, I’ll admit, caught me off guard, but the writing is so great I didn’t mind reading more and more). The clear strengths of this story are the character and emotion driven aspects and the flow of the writing. The further the story evolved, the more into the action you get and you see as the characters’ worlds start to mesh. I would definitely recommend this story to any lover of reading really anything because I feel that it meshes real, modern world and fantasy in such a great way. Don’t be shy; dive on in now!!
