Description

On the alien planet of Scaldigir, where the people are grey, there are average individuals, and then, there are arcanes.

Every arcane getsonepower, except for the reapers. They can take as many powers as they want, so long as they lift them from the bodies of the dead and the dying.

It’s a useful power that could preserve the best abilities among the arcanes – in theory. Thus far, every reaper has been too impatient to wait for the deaths of their comrades. Murder and neglect; the words are synonymous with reaper.

That’s how everyone else sees it. Pan, the last of the reapers, doesn’t think she’s that bad. She hides among the arcanes as a ghost seer. She’s content, with being the one and only reaper, not to mention a secret, until she meets a special ghost.

While the story may still be in it´s early stages, I can frankly say that I am completely invested by this point.
I will begin with the premise of the world and setting. It interweaves elements of traditional fantasy, modern society as well as sci-fi in a blend that felt both very surprising, while also feeling very believable and appropriate in the story. The magic system and division of powers lends itself well to the imagination of the reader, and the way it has been interwoven with the personality and self of the central characters has been done expertly here, I cannot praise the work and author enough for that.
Most of the story so far has been setting up characters, the world and magic system at the time of writing the review, but these passages have done their setup work very well, leaving the reader with a great interest in the things that are to come, now that they understand the world and characters. Pivoting to characterisation, the author managed to give each of the many characters introduced so far, be they major or (seemingly) minor, a very distinct voice and pattern of speech which made them very easy to tell apart, they were given strong motivations and the web of relationships was established in a very concise and clear way. I am definitely interested in seeing how these characters grow, develop and change.
Especially the relation-triangle of the seeming main characters has been fleshed out in a very believable way, in their interactions with each other they feel not like characters given a few lines of relation, but as fully realised people, the backstory they have with each other, even when not explicitly told, is very clear to see and leaves the reader wondering of where things will go from here.
The point greatest of praise to me however, has to be the style of the author as well as their mechanics. Due to my own inexperience I would ask you to ignore the grammar score, I do not have an eye for it and therefore wish not to judge it. What I do ho

Well where do I begin. First off I want to start by saying this isn't my usual cup of tea when it comes to ready stories etc however I will be keeping up with this one as it progresses.
Pan is.... INTERESTING she's a young lady who doesn't fully have her path in life planned out and likes to get into mischief and small exciting adventures. She is definitely a complex character that is well written and thought out. The problem I have with her although I can see her point in the story is that she doesn't know what she wants. I've never been a major fan of indecisive characters and Pan is most definitely indecisive. Hence my rating on her the character.
The story style is new definitely fresh from all the wuxia stories I've been reading. WinnieSallow jumps right into the action in the very first chapter drawing the attention by placing Pan in a precarious situation which although I was a bit confused at first I came to enjoy as I progressed through the chapters! Would definitely recommend a read.
i have no complaints for the grammar in the story as I myself always sucked in English so from my viewpoint the grammar is fine and the character interactions are well written with each having their own separate thoughts and feelings.

This story has been a whole new experience for me. Usually I keep away from adventure/fantasies, as the writers tend to spend too much time in world building / inventing weird and wonderful species. It usually is too tedious for me to actually start seeing through the substance of the story.
This story hooked me up instantly. The author has done a quick and efficient job of building the new world, giving just the right amount of information in the introductory chapters. It then moves quickly, introducing some side characters and then the main plot starts unfolding. It is all done very masterfully, the author keeps a consistent flow of narration, without dwelling on one thing for too long, yet giving enough information to satisfy the reader's curiosity. There's always something interesting at the end of each chapter to keep the reader hooked and waiting for the next.
I love the idea of the story. It is unusual and skilfully executed.
The writing is top-class. No grammar/punctuation errors. The words flow effortlessly, the dialogues feel genuine. Overall a great reading experience.

It's been years, and it is very cool to see the end of these stories.  I enjoyed the relationships since they felt more like natural pairs of compatible people then setups of standard romances.  Some action and humor to occasionally mix things up, and the crossover to the other work was a pleasent surprise as well.

I am really enjoying Reaper of Cantrips. From the first lines it draws in the reader with clear, imaginative writing. There are some plot elements that remain unknown, such as the society's hatred for reapers, and some moments that are confusing, such as the precise nature of certain character relationships. Since the narrator is (I believe) omniscient third person, able to give insight into the deeper thoughts of the various characters and situations, some of these story elements could be made clearer. However, the story flows with a natural confidence making me feel that I am not supposed to understand everything--it is, after all, a mystery. ^.^
The atmosphere is at times grey and at times colorful, creating an interesting world full of shadows and secrets. The author builds up the society and the characters as it naturally fits, rather than forcing it or info-dumping. As a result, the writing itself doesn't feel awkward or slow, but the reader is left to guess and fill in the blanks with their own assumptions, which may turn out to be wrong. Personally I don't find this to be a bad thing, but it can be confusing at times. As more information is given, both depth and clarity are given to the plot and to the characters, adding to the mysterious feeling of the story.
Overall, I find the writing pleasant and the story engaging. I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good mystery and a bit of magic ^.^

Alhough, it can be quite confusing at first, you'll understand! The story line is super interesting, and I love your style of writing. I still can't get over your descriptions of everything, they're just so wonderfully out there! I can see the image you're implementing, and it's all coming into place very smoothly. The reason I gave a 4.5 star rating is because sometimes I get just a teensy bit confused with who is talking in the dialogue, and although you've stated it perfectly, my mind still gets a little confused, but that's the way I am! I am quite slow, hahaha! So, no worries to anyone that is considering reading this wonderful story, you'll love it! <3 I definitely reccomend it, and will introduce this to my friends! Thank you for releasing a thrilling story!

    Story
The story is in its early stages but from what I've read so far, the world in which the story takes place appears to be a modern setting with elements of fantasy and magic mixed with science fiction. It is a very interesting mix that could go far as the story goes on. The plot starts off with building the world, introducing the characters, and setting the concepts. The powers of this world are well explained and show the investment that the author had in creating it. The concept of one power and people who can take on multiple powers has me invested and extremely interested. Especially seeing as how Reapers are seen as bad, it makes me want to see how Pan's closest friends would react to finding out she's a Reaper.
    Characters
The characters are interesting. Each character is distinct, having their own personalities, patterns of speech, pasts, and relationships. The main trio- Pan, Aria, and Sotir- are very well developed and fleshed out. From their exchanges to their interactions, the characters are the meat of this story and the reason readers will keep coming back for more (aside from the worldbuilding). Pan's fears are believable, given society's views of Reapers as a whole. Hiding her powers for fear of ostracization is a common theme in many stories and is done extremely well here. The way the author writes leaves the reader wondering what would happen if her secret was exposed to her friends and to the general public.
    Grammar
Aside from a few grammar errors and a few spelling errors, the story can be read without any interruption of flow.
    Style
The author's style of showing and not telling is one of the big points of this story. Exposition and backstories are interwoven into the story at appropriate moments. There aren't any long chunks of text littered across the page, making it easy to read.
If you're looking for a good read with a modern setting that mixes science fiction and fantasy, then Reaper of Cantrips is the right story for you.

An original, well-written story crafted by a clearly experienced author. An interesting premise in the existence of the reapers and in the character of Pan, who as we experience her point of view seems like an entirely different sort than the others who had her mysterious power.
    Style:
The author writes with clear, concise prose and an economy of words. This allows everything to be easily understood, while leaving irrelevant bits for the reader to imagine. Not to say it's boring prose, and the author has some good turns of phrase, but it does not dress itself up in an effort to impress. The style is more focused on the character interactions, their relationships, solid dialogue and character building, and the prose allows these strong points of the author to shine.
    Grammar:
Near impeccable. Anything I have noticed is extremely mild to the point it's not worth mentioning. I assume the author is intending to release this is a true novel, in which case an editor will smooth out what little tics remain.
    Story:
I found the beginning a bit slow but it is time used to introduce characters and give background on the world. I was initially a bit confused in the opening chapter by some things like Pan being grey, some terms, etc. but the author smoothly reveals worldbuilding that explained these concepts. The concept of the reaper itself is interesting and the story begins to pick up pace after the author sets the scene. A lot of interesting paths the author could go down.
    Character:
The author really excels in character interactions, giving them believe motivations, and having a varied cast with unique voices. I'm more of a fan of male MC's personally but Pan is the type of character that has wide appeal---some snarkiness and casual disregard, like a toned down version of Gideon the Ninth and whoever the MC was from Ninth House. The dialogue is also well-written, with a proper flow and rhythm that's a lot more true to life than most amateur stories.

Reaper of Cantrips is a melting pot of genres that manages to combine seamlessly so far. We have a supernatural horror story in an urban fantasy setting with a blend of space opera setting and a budding teenage romance brooding. None of the elements seem out of place and manage to create a holistic whole. The story itself builds up a few mysteries and questions regarding the backstory of our MC and the first big mystery seems to unfold force Pan to play detective.
The characters are relatively fleshed out, some have more depth than others, but considering at what stage the story is, it did a good job so far. Something that already shines through is the complex web of relationships the characters seem to have caught themselves in. If there's one aspect that annoyed at least me is that despite being college-aged, the characters sometimes behave as if they were ten years younger.
The grammar was fine and didn't find many if any mistakes or issues.
But what can hold the story back is its style. The story springs often from one head to another without warning, leaving the reader confused. As such I often felt lost when trying to piece together who was now speaking or letting the viewer see through their lenses. Something that also worked against the story was that the feelings of the characters were often told. Especially during the first action scene, it slowed the pacing down. I would suggest substituting tells with body language to allow a more immersive reading experience.
Overall, it's a fascinating story with a unique setting, good mystery and lore and complex relationship between the at times too immature characters. But it needs some polish

This story is generally well written so far, and it is placed in an interesting and novel world. It makes you care about the characters as well.
Unfortunately, so far, the main protagonist is as clever as a two-brain-cells slug. Anf her forward thinking is probably not as good.
Maybe it will get better and I will revise the review if I manage to read much more and it does get better.
