As of writing this review, there are only 14 chapters out, but this is enough for a basic review.
One of my favourite types of stories is one where the main character does their best to prove themselves and struggles in a battle they might not even be able to win. This is such a story.
The story starts out on the slower side, which in this case is a good thing. We get to know the main character Cara a little bit and we learn how some aspects of this world work.
This brings me to the next bit. Another thing that I like is how descriptions and knowledge about certain things aren't put in one giant block of "This is how all of this works", also known as an infodump. We learn as we go.
As a non-native English speaker I might not be the best judge, but from what I've read, the grammar and use of vocabulary is great.
I will probably make a more in-depth review once the story has progressed a little bit, but I hope that my review was at least helpful.
I can only recommend that you give this one a chance.

I am really glad I picked up this story and after few chapters I was confused by the relatively low viewership. It is very immersive, I had a feeling I was reading a professionaly published book.
Style in my humble opinion is impeccable, author uses a very rich language, descriptions are complex but vivid.
The thing that may, for some, be a negative, is a lack of immidiate explanation of certain, seemingly confusing events, but for me it is a wonder. It adds to mystery and stimulates imagination.
For the reasons above however, it is not an easy read and requires more focus, but god does it deliver ;)
Regarding the story itself, I find it important to mention, that the balance between introduction/action/breathers is flawless.
Character building comes naturally and all leads and second plan characters are distinguishable and lifelike. We get to know stories behind them and all their actions seem in tune with presented backstories.
Grammar is perfect, at lease I did not find any errors so far. Not even typos. The fact that author studied literature in college shows, but her attention to detail alone is very commendable.
To sum up, it really reads like a renowned writer's book. The language complexity and medieval feel it gives is nothing I have seen on this website so far. I really hope that the hiatus status is not permanent.

This is definitely a hidden gem that I hope will become less hidden.
Our main character, Cara, is a complex individual. It's impressive how the author paints this picture of her so efficiently: competent yet insecure, learned but inexperienced. We've been exposed to glimpses of her (probably tragic) past already and I am excited for more.
The world around her is fleshed out well too. We meet all sorts of people, those that care for her, those that just want to use her, and those that don't really care either way. Even though we haven't seen the full backstory of the people we see her interact with, there's a definite sense of history there.
There's the monsters, too. So far we've seen two different kinds of monsters, and they are plausible, interesting, familiar but also unique. Cara shows that she has indeed been educated on the basics of Heroing and takes care of them, but she isn't untouchable. She may walk away, but she doesn't do it scratchless.
I think this story will be going very interesting places and I strongly urge anyone who's a fan of fantasy with an adventuring guild, complex main characters put against unfavorable but surmountable odds, or just likes good stories in general to give this one a shot.
