A seriously intense start to this one! Atreus' POV gives you a very visceral sense of the action and what to expect. The LitRPG elements are integrated in a smooth manner, clearly delineated from the prose text without detracting from readability (a pet peeve of mine in some otherwise compelling stories on this site). The prose is good; the story is competently written. One to keep my eye on!!
    Slight spoiler:
Shifting to Darak's POV so soon in the story is a daring move (most novelists here stick to one MC, certainly at first) but it does not detract from the immersion.

In my opinion this is a hidden gem. This was a revieuw swap at first, focusing on a few chapters, but I binged through it all!!
If you’re still on the fence, just give it a shot. The character development really takes off around chapter 3.
Now, reviewing without spoiling anything is always difficult, so bare with me :)
Style: The story lack a proper prologue of sorts. Instead you get thrown in first chapter, that’s a thick 4k words, filled with number-porn. The latter in my opinion is great, seeing as I prefer my littrpg books to be part spreadsheets. Still, it might not by to everyone’s tastes.
Grammar: It’s solid, but could use a polish. From what I’ve seen from the other commenters, the majority is already fixed. That’s good, and I don’t see it really repeated in the other chapters. There was nothing that really stood out to me when I first read it, so never once was my immersion shattered. It’s only when you actively peek under the hood when you notice a few things, but mostly minor; Passive verbs, comma’s, or switching past/present tenses. Nothing an Editor or software won’t fix. Good stuff!
Characters: From what I’ve seen so far, it’s an interesting take. (Slight spoilers ahead)
Atreus is refreshingly dark and pure, clearly struggling between his monstrous side and his soul. It’s a fun take on thinks, although I suspect he might lean a bit more to the monstrous side over time. He isn’t OP, despite being… well a literal monster! We see growth, failure, stubborn traits and a smart side of him. Can’t say to much about the side character, seeing as mosts end up as meals. But I love the emotions that are painted on the canvas, from the idiotic beasts that try to attack him, to the orcs that get taken by surprise!
Story: It’s a clear story path for now; growth, survival and expansion. It’s good, but its something we’ve seen before. I suspect the author has some tricks up his sleeve, so hopefully we’ll get a few curveballs along the way!
