Description
An engineering student just got isekai'd to Pokemon.
He’s left to fend for himself in a world that isn’t quite right with no cheat abilities and a so-so memory of the franchise. This is unfortunate when the timeline is on track for terrible events, and there are no protagonists in sight.
Slow paced, slice of life. Emphasis on the 'train' in trainer. Pokemon that aren’t human or animal.
Realistic take of the world with grim aspects along with the good. MC is thrown right in the Muk.

- Blorgh the muppetRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.04 stars for a writing of this quality is kinda nuts consider what kinda novels are at 4.5
just read the first chapter, youll find it has nothing in common with its rating.
its not a happy feel good cushion job. It has those moments and they shine all the more for what our protag does to achieve em.
happiness is earned not handed out - ChicotheguyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So good! Great writing stile, - with realism, corruption and trauma but not the 'grimdark' pornographic suffering that you sometimes find. And with a sympathetic MC, that is specially hard to find on the more grounded works. I love it.
It form real made me want to play some pokemon fangames or read mre novels of this kind once I got caught up. I would be happy if Pokemon was this officially, thats how good I found it. - Devaint-dreamerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love this story, it starts a little slow, i struggled to get through the chapters 25-35, but after that i wasnt able to put down the seties till i read all 80+ chapters so far.
The way the author makes the world seem more real and gritty, that pokemon arent all friendly and there are consequences for actions is brilliant.
10/10 reccomend a read - RutellRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This reads more like a high tension mystery novel with worries about food training and being chased rather than a pokemon journey with battling and adventure. The story is better for it and very refreshing
If you know what you are in for its a wonderful read
Pidgey for the win every time - The_Laughing_TreeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an excellent story with David being isekai'd into pokemon world and having to cope with that disorientation but manages to cope somehow after a time. Unlike some other isekai David is not a all knowing encyclopedia like Professor Oak. Like with other good stories it builds on the pokemon bond to become akin to pseudo cultivation (aura or other as not yet defined in story so far) which admittedly is not required but does add a certain depth to the story in that it is not just the Pokemen progressing in power but the trainer as well. I look forward to seeing where the story goes next.
I can't help speculate on which will be the next pokemon David catches as he is currently travelling to Fuchsia City perhaps Murkrow? (if keeping with Flying Type but it could be anything if he goes with Normal Type)
Cloudburst as a name is quite good for Pidgey, I look forward to seeing Cloud's progress considering the Pidgey's evolution in the games it should not be too far off to Pidgeotto although there does seem to be a age factor in the story not just on battling experience so might be another month or two within the story (e.g. around third badge) - WhiskerpixelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’ve enjoyed a lot of Pokémon fics here, but this is the first one where I’ve felt like I’ve stood next to an iconic Pokémon and felt what that would be like. Slow burn as promised, and very very satisfying. I can’t wait to read more, this promises to be well worth the time.
- YOGITHEGUYRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm usual not one for fanfics but this has changed that.
So well written and thought put.
Brings realism to pokemon... sometimes painful realism. Makes vegetarianism make since, I'm not eating a fried pidgy and I love fried chicken.
I don't think the author will take the story down this route ( ha route) but if I was the mc I'd end up wanting to take.over and fix the system that seems to do very little to help and limits trainers.
Worth the read.
Only complaint..... MORE CHAPTERS PLEASE
I NEED LIKE 5 A DAY. MAKE A PATRON AND QUIT YOUR DAY JOB 🙏. - twigthe1stRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A slow based pokemon fan fiction that showcases a different MC who doesn't know everything about pokemon.
There is a tendency on RR for readers to want an OP character who min maxes every scenario. Such readers may find some dissatisfaction as the MC makes mistakes. These mistakes allow us to see a different perspective which is refreshing. - Hullo55747Royal Road★★★★ 4.0The story is great, especially with how it depicts he world and the few characters seen so far, but it often gets bogged down with what feels like pointless stuff. The training with pidgey, dealings with team rocket, and the different organisations are all very interesting, but the attention is often placed on extracts from books and busy work. I understand that the author wants to build up the world, but I dont think long paragraphs detailing things that could have easily been summarised from the character's POV, which could make a much more interesting lens, is the way to go. And with the berries, I also understand that the author wants to establish how bad the MC's situation is, but I picked up the memo a long time ago, making the extended trips to the wilderness feel unnecessary. Im pretty sure most of them could get boiled down to just the MC going back to sell the berries and the effect would be essentislly the same.
The story has lots of potential, but could do with trimming down the fat and refining it's other aspects.
Anyways, heres a string of nonsense for the word limit.

If you don't like those things I would avoid this story, especially the slow burn part.
I myself love it. With how slow it is you get some very good world building and character development. The Pokémon training is also very interesting in the more realistic setting which really puts a lot of meat on the bones for this story. The mystery why the MC got isekaid and why also is interesting and helps you get sucked into the story right away.
