- LeastWeaselRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is still a fairly early review, but I wanted to share some thoughts on what you can expect from this fic. All of the characters have distinct goals, and at first glance, the story might appear to be your typical journey fic—and for those who love that, it certainly delivers. However, there’s much more here: the narrative is filled with slice-of-life moments that allow every character and Pokémon their time to shine.
The pacing is slow and steady, offering a welcome change for readers who prefer camaraderie and quiet moments over constant battles or relentless badge collecting. There’s so much to love for fans of the softer, everyday happenings between trainers and their Pokémon.
His writing demonstrates a strong command of the language, with minimal grammatical errors, which, when they occur, are promptly corrected.
While battles and badge collecting might become more prominent in the future, it doesn’t feel like those will dominate the story. The writer seems to be aiming keeping a careful balance, making sure both kinds of readers find something to enjoy. If you’re someone who wants to read about trainers and Pokémon relaxing together around a fire in the forest, forging small moments of harmony before sleep—this is the story for you. - OkHabitRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I put low score on story and character, because ten chapters in, there really hasn't been that much story to talk about. Same with the characters. The only one that seems to have some character development, is Giovanni and he carries those two stars by himself.
I understand that some of you might think I am crazy putting an overall of 3.5 stars if I have two stars on story and character. And you would be right, because I think those two categories that the most important in a fic. BUT, the chapters are tiny and all chapters combined might barely make two chapters in total on most other fics, at least on the ones I have read in the past or the current I am reading So this can change real fast and I am sure it will.
I personally did not like the prologue, I hope people read my review before reading it, because I can see the confusion and some people abandoning the fic before even getting to chapter 2. THAT IS NOT HOW THE WHOLE FIC IS BEING TOLD.
I had the pleasure of having some discussion with the author and he seems like a person that is thirsty to become a great writer, but besides that, he genuinely seems to be a good human being and to me that matters. I am eager to be proven right, that this fic will find it's footing and becomes if not great, at the very least, good, worth minimum 4.5 stars.
