- Bait10Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a fantastic continuation of Book 1, with even more depth to the world and characters. With Ash's increased arsenal of powers and knowledge comes even more believable flaws, with him actually needing saving from his friends on a few occasions.
The author's writing has markedly improved from before, now feeling very close to a professional publication's quality.
Many people preach Radical Redux as the model Pokemon fanfiction for very good reason, and I'm looking forward to reading the Hoenn journey. - CasmodiusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Continues the fun adventure from the last book. The writing has improved from the last book with very few spelling or grammar mistakes. To be honest of the Pokemon SI/fanfics I have read this has got to be in the top 3. I love this book and Its intelligent portrayal of Ash. Cant wait for more chapters.
- firooRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just gotta say this is a fine work imho, author has clearly improved the phrasing anf grammar since the first work, and that without losing any of the vividness and appeal from it. I've read my fair share of pok fanfics so far, and this is my fav for simple reason: its development always surprises me, sadly a situation difficult to find nowadays. Sometimes serious, sometimes fun, sometimes adventurous...author has a knack for blending many good tropes in a solid work, with consistent style, and continous updates.
- KyoteruRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I finished the first part and I'm halfway through the second, and knowing there's still another part, I'll post my opinion here, hoping you improve by the time I reach the current chapters. There are some points I really don't like.
Firstly, you made the league a bunch of incompetent clowns. Okay, in the anime they're incompetent (and evil in the manga), but here they're even worse. Since the S.S. Anne incident, they seem like idiots that I can't take seriously.
Why do active trainers walk around without their main Pokémon? You mentioned something about publicity, but it makes no sense in my opinion. It's basically idiocy. The Elite Four are VIPs and must have many enemies naturally. Why the hell would they risk their lives because of some idiot on the internet who doesn't like them walking around with their Pokémon?
And the other problem I hate is the fact that you don't know what to do with Team Rocket. Sometimes you want to make them the bad guys, but at other times they're the real villains. Oh, but it's because Giovanni is good but Pryce is evil. It was Giovanni who ordered the attack on the S.S. Anne, and if it weren't for the protagonist, everyone there could have died. And you're telling me that Giovanni is good?? He also ordered the attack on Cinnabar Island using technology that forces evolution and hurts Pokémon (not to mention that he wanted to test a legendary Pokémon on the island's inhabitants). And you're telling me that he cares about Pokémon?? Nothing makes sense in your interpretation of them. Even minor characters on the team say they care about Pokémon, but they go around stealing and conducting tests on them. You have to decide which side they're really on.
Nevertheless, I want to inform you that this second part is better than the first, both in the development of the characters and the pacing of the story.
