Meet Gladion, a reincarnated individual in the Pokemon world. In his past life, he was just a student and now he's born in Kanto with a burning desire to elevate his beloved grandpa's gym to elite status and become one of the richest person in the whole damn world.

Gladion sets out to transform his family's gem of a gym into the crown jewel of Kanto. His goals? Become a major league gym, rake in the Poké-dollars and have one of the strongest Pokemon team out there.

The story is before Ash goes on his journey but in time it would also include that. It will include anime and the movie events.

I like how the writing seems to warm up. It's really gaining momentum here. From his birth to his difficulties, his sister's personality...to forming stronger bonds with family and the bitter sweet goodbye. Now he's changed for the better about to point his spear at the world. Quite nice. Some slight grammatic errors here and there though. Otherwise a great story.

The writing is actually really quite good and I've found myself enjoying the story a great deal. Besides a handful of grammar and consistency mistakes that could easily be ironed out, my only real issue with the story is how over the place it is.
Granted, that's more personal preferences than anything. But the story is ostensibly about the MC pursuing the dream of making his family's minor ground type gym dream into a a major one in Kanto. Yet he randomly develops psychic powers. His starter is a fighting type. His next pokemon loses its ground type upon evolution. And he's (according to an author comment) going to be a generalist? See the problem?
The great character voices, dialogue and pacing make up for it, mostly. But it still irks me a fair bit. Does he want to run his family's ground type gym or not? Because literally nothing he's done points in that direction. Despite the – looks at title and summary – heavy implication up otherwise.

I'm not sure if my old review at 15 chapters stays but an update: around 40 chapters In and still not a single pokemon battle. I guess the first defense to my original criticism was Its early to the story but when will a pokemon battle be written? Gladion has achieved a full team before he's even had a single fight. 3v1 mom not really a fight kind of dumb. Fight vs classmate was an evolution filler. When is he going to have a fair fight? The Grammer and writing is good I want to give this story a good rating but we're 40 something chapters In and nothing has happened. Full team of generic fanfics pokemon with no fights. You can say slow pace but like where's the line? Progression after 60 chapters? Ridiculous
