Description
In this reimagining of the beloved story of Peter and Wendy that acts as a sequel and a new spin on the original, a teenage girl in present day London named Winter, struggles with her identity after the recent death of her mother. After visiting her mother’s grave, she accidentally falls into Peter Pan’s spaceship, the Jolly Roger, along with his trusty android Tink. She learns that Peter’s story is not only true, but was written in a different manner so the public of the early 1900’s would understand. They wouldn’t be able to comprehend that Peter is actually a space hero in the galaxy of Neverland, where he fights pirates with either his laser sword or in a dog fight using his spaceship. As they journey to discover what new plan the nefarious cyborg Captain Hook is up to, Winter tries to understand why Peter seems like a facade from his character in the book, as well as why he’s harboring a dark secret about Wendy Darling. Through their adventures together, they learn to accept the people they have become, while not forgetting the people they once were.

- JedandJeffRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I don't like giving reviews this early but props to the author cuz i'm hooked already! =) I'm a big Peter Pan fan so seeing this spin on the classic story is super creative and adds a clever and unique perspective. I also love how there's self-awarness in this story of the Peter Pan that we're already familiar with addressed and incorporated into this story with some "historical" context.
The biggest strength is in the main protagonist, Winter. Love the complexities of her relationship with her father, the loss of her mother and her art ambitions. Can't wait to see her thrown into this new reality with Pan and what adventures may come!
