Perfectly normal and sane science in another world

Imagine, if you will, what would happen if an entirely sane scientist who does everything legally and is not wanted for various crimes against humanity, is killed in an illegal home invasion by the CIA and instead of dying and being dragged down to heaven is plucked out of reality and thrust into a fantasy world that seems to be run by a system that will reward people for anything and everything of note that they do. And a distinct lack of the annoying laws that plagued earth, like human r*ghts and the gen*va convention, to get in the way of my interests.
