Description
So Luca is a tiny bit short of money. Only a couple of hundred... thousands. And yeah, it's like foryesterday.
Neat, right?
No.
If he doesn't hurry up, Victor will stuff him into a cheap black plastic bag with cement shoes. And if that happens, Luca won’t be there when his little brother opens his eyes.
So, the answer is quite simple when the opportunity arises. Joining Pendulum, the world’s top company. The job? Dive intoMysteriesand take beautiful pictures while running for his life. The pay is great, the risks are deadly, and boring days are a thing of the past.
For his brother, Luca will take all the necessary risks —even if it means running under the jaws of a T-Rex, sneaking behind a crashed alien spacecraft, or fighting the flames of a demonic kitchen —among otheradventures.
After all,knowlegdeis on his side.

- WeavervaleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So in pendulum the author makes a strong choice to do the thing. I usually advise not to do which is to do egg first and then third POV alternating within the same page. They're doing the italics thing where you switch to first person. I have never seen this work well except for like one time so I would say this the style choice. I would not read this because of this choice.
Since this is a horror I would say this should be a first person POV. What you lose by the POV being in first person versus third is debatable. You can't do anything that the main character wouldn't be able to see and I like the way that it's lit RPG combined with a horror thing?
Style: 4/5 based on pick a POV
Grammar: 5/5 I didn't see any issues in what I read so I think this is good. Although there is some places. Where is the the text? Changed formatting a lot and it's very jarring.
Character 5/5: The characters make sense. The story makes sense. It's just not my cup of tea really. I can stick with it for a bit but the style really got me. - jDjRoseRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Here my thoughts on the story so far, it has an common plot about how Luca wants earn some money but the only way he can that it is by putting his life in danger in order to save his brother.
It's fairly early for me to judge the side character so I stay on the topic for too long.
The pacing is okay in sense that it's not mixing it around too much. The descriptive sentence structure make worthwhile.
Grammar is a slight issue but can I believe that it fine as long as it's readable - ThistlemanRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'll start with the most important part of my review: Yes, I have been having quite the good time with this story so far!
As for why?
The Story: 5/5
The story really takes the idea of Mysteries in stride... both in narrative design and as a story element. At first you might feel a little confused diving in, with a bit of challenge from some rough-around-the-edges grammar. However, I recommend pushing through it, its worth it! Why? Because as you read, and if you keep a sharp eye about you, you will start to be able to connect dots.
You will begin to understand a bit more about the things you read at first, and then you will get enough knowledge together to do one of my favorite activities: THEORY CRAFTING! I'm not sure which way this story is going to go, and I have so many questions about who Luca really is, but this story is tickling my brain in a good way. Sure, there is a lot more to it then that, but you'll have to read it yourself ;)
I liked the subtle twist on the cliche of needing money for a family member in the hospital flipped from a lady in distress (mom/daughter/sister, its ALWAYS one of them for some reason...) to a brother in distress. I never thought I'd find a gender swap refreshing, yet somehow here I am.
Style: 4.5/5
I certainly enjoy Laleth's style of writing. Its much like a classical novel. It moves at a steady pace and does not skimp on details, with nice paragraphs giving me plenty of descriptions while still steadily advancing the story. I feel like I am getting a good balance all around of progression and detail.
Characters: 4.5/5
I still feel as if I am a little early on to judge the side characters, although I am steadily getting a better feel for our recurring cast. I do get a consistent sense of everyone carrying their own agenda, and Laleth has done well in building out some distinct personalities for those characters.
The majority of character exploration so far has been in Luca, our MC. Which is only natural, I suppose, as we pretty
