- BastraadRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a great story with an interesting twist in the form of the multiple paths option. I'm also a big fan of stories with smart and realistic characters which is what this book has. The main character avoids stupid risks while still taking chances in service of doing the right thing.
- Flch1cksRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This has started out as a very decent cultivation novel. I like that the characters can choose between cultivation, magic, and faith instead and being forced into one or the other.
The only complaint I have so far is the "chapters" that are nothing but info dumps. I mean, you are rolling along great in the story and then suddenly, bam! A chapter on faith, a chapter on mana, and a chapter on cultivation. The information is worthwhile but having it as its own chapter is annoying. Also, the chapters of just the character sheet? Why is that a thing?
Other than that though, the story is very good so far and I look forward to what is to come! - Justin MarksRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's got a nice piece of world building, a MC that is acting logically and some fun pieces. A few chunks of system info (other paths) are a bit much for me but I know are popular with others. Eagerly looking forward to more of this story and learning more about crafting and maybe settlement building.
- K.A.ORoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What a great series from start to finish. Book 1 had me hooked from the beginning. Book 2 was even nore exciting. Eagerly reading Book 3 now. Even your side story was well done.
Great characters and the multiple paths of power made this work very interesting and enjoyable to read. Keep up the great work! Absolutely a must read in my opinion. - PotassiumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0There are many "System Apocalypse" stories in this site, and is apparent that most writers do not trully think out the balance of the system or theri impacts and just follow the usual tropes. This one is an excellent exemple of an exceptona s the author has written an interesting story with an well-thought system and if the charachters are sometimes not the most innovative ones, not every trope should avoided adn sometimes we want to read a confortable story with familiar characters
- TurdTurtleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I randomly checked this out and so far its pretty great. Three power systems (which is fun - cultivation, classes, and faith), a reasonable MC with decent motivations and most importantly good writing. Its an almost effortless read with nothing technically jarring.
Given its a cultivation litrpg of course the MC is a bit OP but thats fine and given the quality of writing so far im confident the author will find a way to put speedbumps in his path to keep it interesting.
thanks for the read! - Nicholas PritchettRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far so good writing is mostly good grammar wise but I have alwasys sucked at it so who am I to judge.
Story is good and I like the MC and how the southern is using his personal life.
also made me think I should have a sit down discussion with my family about what we would do in a system event - Miss CorbynRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5So, I don't understand why no one bothered to write a proper review yet.
The plot is simple: the world turn into a game and the MC is given the choice between three systems. He chose cultivation. And went on a road trip with his faithful husky to get back to his family.
The world turning into a game isn't really original. The three systems aren't original either. But the three coexisting at the same time is unheard of. Normally, this is arcane + divine magic together only. Adding cultivation to the mix is somewhat new but no yet outstanding.
What really stand out is that, while the MC start on his own, he is really family driven and willing to cooperate as a team.
One other important fact from the systems coexistense is that they are not compatible. So the "optimal" team would be to have one of each to use every flavour of magic available. The MC isn't here yet but the people he encounter are fairly meeting that criteria.
There is also a huge potential for growth. While the cultivation path seemed to be more linear and a lot less specialized that the mana or divine path, the reader have almost an immediate understanding of what is in store for the MC in the future. So no OP abilties coming from nowhere and a fair challenge ahead to get there.
So it deserve a fair score for story while not being too overly original.
The style is okay. It hooked me, made me root for the unfortunate MC willing to get back to his family. But after trying to reread it... let's say that it's not so good that you would want to read it TWICE.
Grammar is good enough for me. I'm not a native english speaker so I might be more lenient but it's flawless enough to me.
Then for the Character score:
A truck driver in his mid 30's divorced and remarried with a child from his former marriage is already fairly original compared to the usual blank-slate MC. There is also the fact he is cooperative and genuinely care for his pet. He is also trusting without being a fool either. And the fact he is alrea - RPGNoviceRoyal Road★★ 2.0Liked the beginnings. Adding some of the twists to the secondary characters is not something I personally do not appreciate. I'm old. Not interested in , my opinion , gender confusion. My personal views don't matter to anyone but me. Go do your own thing however you want. I choose not to participate. Thank you.
